Ya'll Ready For This?!

Today we start Event #56, a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, and the last such tournament on the schedule this year. While everyone has mixed emotions about the end of the series, the Rio is clearly excited. Right now they have playing what appears to be a pump up mix over the loud speakers, including "Ya'll Ready For This", by 2 Unlimited. For those of you that didn't have a Jock Jam's phase in the 90's, here is the link to that video.

However, today will be anything but cheesy and elementary. Last year, the final $1,500 event brought out 2,543 players and a created a more than $3.4 million prizepool. In the end, it was Michael Linn who took home $609,493 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet. With the fields spiking this year, our turnout is likely to be even larger and the prizepool even bigger. This year, we've already had six great champions in an event structured this way including Andy Frankenberger and Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari.

Action is scheduled to start today at noon and entrants will play 10 levels of poker. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled right here to PokerNews for all your Event #56 updates.
