Ladies' Night

Jen Harman brought it in and Annie Duke completed, which prompted Chad Brown to raise it up. Both Harman and Duke made the call. The turn saw Harman pair up and fire out a bet, which both her opponent called. Harman kept the pressure on with a bet on fifth street, Duke called, and this time Brown got out of the way.

Harman {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Duke: (x-x) / {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{K-Spades} / (x)
Brown: (x-x) / {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Harman proceeded to bet sixth and seventh and Duke called both bets. Harman rolled over a flush and Duke simply mucked.

What DOES Phil Hellmuth Think About His Table?

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

"What does Phil Hellmuth think of his table?" the man himself asked us recently. We were standing behind him, and he took the opportunity to share his thoughts.

"Well," he began. "It's a fun one. There are four players at this table who are capable of winning the bracelet. And there are four players at this table capable of finishing second."

The table all broke into a big laugh, but Hellmuth dotted his comments with one final thought. "I do know that we have the two best players in their twenties at this table."

That'd be Shaun Deeb and Jason Mercier.

Unfortunately for us (and fortunately for them), that table has just broken.

Tough to Beat Table 353

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Being that this is a $5,000 entry event, and that it's a mixed game, we expected the tables to be stacked. However, we think we have found the toughest table in the room, and it's 353. We don't recognize the player in seat 1, but the rest of the table is occupied with notable faces.

Seat 2: Mike Leah
Seat 3: Allen Bari
Seat 4: David Oppenheim
Seat 5: David "Bakes" Baker
Seat 6: David Williams
Seat 7: Paul Volpe
Seat 8: Michael Mizrachi

This table is playing out right in front of us, so safe to say we will be keeping tabs on all the action.

Kenney Takes From Tehan

Tehan: (x-x) / {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs} / (x)
Kenney: (x-x) / {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} / (x)
Su: (x-x) / {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} fold

Joe Tehan brought in with the {3-Diamonds}, and Bryn Kenney completed to 250. Stephen Su called, as did Tehan, and we went to fourth street. It was checked to Kenney, who fired out again. Su folded, but Tehan called. Tehan would check call bets on fifth and sixth street, before betting out on seventh street. Kenney tossed in the call, and Tehan showed just the {3-Clubs} for a pair of threes. Kenney showed {7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens, and it was good enough to take the pot, upping his stack to 17,000, while Tehan drops to 8,000.

Duke Flushes Brown

Annie Duke
Annie Duke

After Jennifer Harman brought it in with the {5-Diamonds}, Annie Duke called and Chad Brown completed. Harman got out of the way, Duke called and it was off to the turn. Brown was first to act and bet, which Duke quickly raised Brown made the call and then proceeded to bet both fifth and sixth streets before checking in the dark headed into seventh.

Duke: {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Spades} / {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Brown: {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Clubs} / {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Duke squeezed out her last card, which gave her a flush, and then fired out a bet. Brown paid it off and didn't seem too surprised when Duke showed him the goods.

Bloch Beaten By Flush

Bloch: (x-x) / {9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} / (x)
Opponent: (x-x) / {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} / (x)

Andy Bloch got off to a great start in this event, quickly getting up to 31,000 on his quest for back-to-back stud final tables. However, he has slowly been sliding since, and we just caught him losing another pot. Bloch raised after his opponent brought in, and he was reraised. Bloch was not deterred, as he put in another bet, and his opponent called.

Bloch was called on fourth street as well, before being raised on fifth street. Bloch made the call, and he also called down on sixth and seventh street. Bloch's opponent revealed {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in the hole for an ace high flush, and Bloch mucked his hand. He's still in fine shape with around 19,000, but it's far less then he had an hour ago.
