Big Pot and Some More Dealer Controversy

There was a pot of over 100,000 in the middle of the table between Jesse Martin, Bryan Devonshire and Joe Tehan. Devonshire was all in and there was a side pot between Martin and Tehan. When the hands were all shown, Martin had a pair of fives for the high and Tehan an eight-seven low for the side pot. For the main pot, Devonshire had the best low with a six-four low and Martin's hand was still good for the high half of that pot as well.

There was a bit of an issue with the dealer on this hand. First, Tehan did turn his hand over after all the betting was complete, but didn't fully lay it face up on the felt. Still, everyone saw his hand. The dealer, though, turned Tehan's hand face down and attempted to award the entire side pot to Martin. Martin spoke up to make sure Tehan got his half of the side pot, which is when the dealer turned Tehan's back over and tabled it. Martin was being nice in that he was letting Tehan get his half of the pot, but it was still made known to the floor that the dealer was making a critical error by not killing an un-tabled hand.

Then, the dealer had issues chopping up the pot. This process took several minutes and much of the table called to the floor to get a new dealer. Adam Friedman was very adamant that the floor provide the table with a new dealer and the request was granted.

Prior to this, there have been numerous complaints from the players about the dealers at the World Series of Poker this year. Mainly these complaints are coming from the players involved in the mixed-game events.

Brunson Bests Krapivinsky

Krapivinsky: {x-}{x-} / {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} / {x-}
Brunson: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {x-}

Brunson led out on fourth street and Krapivinsky opted to push out a raise. This raise got Phil Hellmuth out of the pot but Brunson stuck around. Krapivinsky continued with a bet on fifth street but they both checked sixth and seventh.

Brunson tabled {9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for two pair and a sullen look washed over Krapivinsky's face. He mucked his cards and the pot was pushed toward Brunson.

One for Bari

Allen Bari just picked up a pot off of Eli Elezra that went to sixth street. Bari's now back up to 80,000 in chips after suffering a big loss right before the last break.

Allen Bari: {x-}{x-} / {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} / {x-}
Eli Elezra: {x-}{x-} / {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} / {x-}

On this hand, Bari check-called on fourth, before betting out on fifth and sixth. Elezra called on fifth, but opted to fold on sixth and let Bari scoop in the pot.

Kings Up For Hellmuth

Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs} / {x-}
Monnette: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades} / {x-}

We got to the table to hear Phil Hellmuth's voice announce "I raise" with fervor on fourth street. Hellmuth continued with a bet on fifth and sixth and the two checked seventh.

"Kings up," said Hellmuth, showing {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Monnette looked down at his hand and said that it was good, awarding the PokerBrat the pot.

Arntzen Scoops Big One from Bari and Hardie

Both Allen Bari and George Hardie just lost a very big pot to Sven Arntzen. Arntzen scooped up the monster with an ace-high spade flush and a seven-six low. Bari began the hand with the {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} in the hole followed by the {8-Diamonds} and {4-Diamonds}, but could only make an eight-five low and a pair of deuces by the end. Hardie mucked his hand.
