Big Pot and Some More Dealer Controversy

There was a pot of over 100,000 in the middle of the table between Jesse Martin, Bryan Devonshire and Joe Tehan. Devonshire was all in and there was a side pot between Martin and Tehan. When the hands were all shown, Martin had a pair of fives for the high and Tehan an eight-seven low for the side pot. For the main pot, Devonshire had the best low with a six-four low and Martin's hand was still good for the high half of that pot as well.

There was a bit of an issue with the dealer on this hand. First, Tehan did turn his hand over after all the betting was complete, but didn't fully lay it face up on the felt. Still, everyone saw his hand. The dealer, though, turned Tehan's hand face down and attempted to award the entire side pot to Martin. Martin spoke up to make sure Tehan got his half of the side pot, which is when the dealer turned Tehan's back over and tabled it. Martin was being nice in that he was letting Tehan get his half of the pot, but it was still made known to the floor that the dealer was making a critical error by not killing an un-tabled hand.

Then, the dealer had issues chopping up the pot. This process took several minutes and much of the table called to the floor to get a new dealer. Adam Friedman was very adamant that the floor provide the table with a new dealer and the request was granted.

Prior to this, there have been numerous complaints from the players about the dealers at the World Series of Poker this year. Mainly these complaints are coming from the players involved in the mixed-game events.
