"I Own Him"

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We can't venture into the Silver Section of the Brasilia Room without cracking a smile. We walked by Kevin Saul and Mark Kroon's table and Kroon waved us over.

"You want a story? I'm 4-0 against Saul today," Kroon said. "I own him."

"Yeah, but that was for total of like 900 chips," Saul snapped back.

What an Awful Birthday Present

It is Shannon Shorr's birthday today and he's looking sharp in brown suit. The player in the cutoff opened and Shorr moved all in from the button. The blinds released and the cutoff called.

Shorr: {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs}
Opponent: {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}

The board ran {9-Spades} {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {3-Spades} and Shorr was eliminated. The players at the table wished him a happy birthday and told him to have fun.

Smith Scoops One

Action began on Justin "Boosted J" Smith, who opened for 225 from the cutoff. His opponent directly behind him on the button called, as did the big blind.

The flop came {2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and the player in the big blind checked, prompting a 250 bet from Smith. His opponent on the button called, but the big blind player folded.

Smith fired 725 into the middle when a {J-Diamonds} fell on the turn. His opponent gave up his hand and Smith scooped up the pot.

Smith, who has over $2 million in lifetime tournament winnings, is up to 6,000.

Tank-Chop

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante
Antonio Esfandiari was massaged while his opponent tanked.
Antonio Esfandiari was massaged while his opponent tanked.

We found Antonio Esfandiari on the river pushing out a bet of 2,500. The board showed {5-Spades} {9-Spades} {K-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs} and his opponent tanked. A couple minutes passed by as his opponent counted out calling chips, counted what he would have behind and then counting his whole stack all over again. He would occasionally look at Esfandiari but Esfandiari kept his gaze straight down as he received a massage.

The unknown player finally tossed in a call after mumbling "I'm giving you a lot of credit." He tabled {A-Spades} {9-Clubs} and Esfandiari tabled {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for a chopped pot.
