Three-time gold bracelet winner Max Stern is currently seat right in front of us in Seat 8 on Table 353. Who does he have to contend to on his left? None other than 11-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, though we haven't seen the two square off as of yet.
With that said, we did see Stern just take a pot off Gabriel Nassif. It happened when the latter completed and the former called. Stern then led out when he took the lead on the turn, which inspired Nassif to fold.
Nassif: (x-x) /

Stern: (x-x) /

Earlier today Phil Ivey busted Event 15: $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split 8-or-Better in seventh place $34,595. He then late registered for Event 17: $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em and is actually doing quite well there. Nonetheless, that hasn't stopped him from pulling double duty and playing in this event. We expect he'll be bouncing between the two throughout the night.

JoeTehan Joseph Off to a hot start in the razz event. Probably one of the chip leaders with 25k. Let's see where this one gets me. GL @AdamFriedman119

Since that tweet Tehan has added an additional 5,000 to his stack, bringing it up to 30,000; meanwhile, Tommy Vedes has chipped up to 31,000. The pots are getting bigger so stacks are constantly changing, but Tehan and Vedes appeared to be among the chip leaders here in Level 6.

We recently checked with tournament officials to see if the defending champion of this event, Rep Porter, had late registered. They confirmed that they had checked the list and he would not be defending his title. We weren't quite sure as to the reason why, but we checked his Twitter and found out. Needless to say, it touched our hearts and more than passes for a valid excuse.

RepPorter RepPorter Sad to miss the opportunity to defend my razz title, but have to go to my little girls ballet recital tomorrow...#somethingsaremorei mportant

Players are now on their last 15-minute break of the day. When they return, they'll play two more levels before bagging and tagging for the night.
