Shchemelev Takes a Big Hit

Phil Hellmuth{x-}{x-} / {4-}{5-}{j-}{k-} / {x-}
Vladimir Shchmelev{x-}{x-} / {a-}{7-}{7-}{9-} / {x-}

We caught up with the action on fourth street, where Hellmuth check-called a bet from Shchmelev. Hellmuth check-called bets on fifth and sixth as well, then check-raised on seventh. Shchmelev called, and was very unhappy to see Hellmuth's {a-}{6-}{2-}.

Cantu Continues to Roll; Eliminates Brownstein

"Nice hand," we heard Peter Brownstein say before making a hasty exit to the payout desk. We headed over and saw that he was drawing dead headed into seventh against Brandon Cantu.

Brownstein: {7-}{8-} / {3-}{J-}{J-}{Q-} / (x)
Cantu: {A-}{3-} / {6-}{7-}{A-}{5-} / {4-}

With that, Cantu has went from 4,000 to 172,500 in just 40 minutes.

Grizzle & Wright Silenced

Sam Grizzle's gone.
Sam Grizzle's gone.

Sam Grizzle completed with a {5-}, Scott Abrams raised with an {8-}, and Grizzle moved all in. Abrams called, and the boards ran out like this.

Grizzle: {a-}{q-} / {5-}{4-}{5-}{10-}
Abrams: {7-}{2-} / {8-}{k-}{q-}{5-}

Abrams turned over a {3-} on seventh to give him an unbeatable eighty-seven low. Grizzle turned over a {2-}, and the last words he said were, "I finally got a good card."

Grizzle finished in 27th place and followed Larry Wright, who was eliminated in 28th place, to the payout desk.
