Jeanine Deeb just informed us about Jonathan Aguiar's bust out hand. Aguiar had {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair and a flush draw on a king-high flop, but he was up against {K-}{Q-}. No help for Aguiar who is no longer in the tournament.

Ivey in Full Effect Here in Event 2

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

As you all know by now if you've been following along with our coverage, Phil Ivey is in the field for this Event 2: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. After taking a year off from the World Series of Poker last year, poker's number one phenom is back in the confines of the Amazon Room ruffling a stack of chips and looking for his next victim.

Ivey has eight WSOP gold bracelets over his career and over $16 million in career earnings. He currently sits third on the all-time money list on 16th on the SOP all-time money list.

Here at PokerNews we understand that Ivey has a very distinct effect on the field of a tournament and on his opponents. Back in August 2010, The Ivey Effect was published that talks about what Ivey brings to poker that really no one else in the game does.

Check out the article, we hope you enjoy it.

Collopy Doing Good, Sexton and Senti Gone

We just caught up with Jim Collopy who was playing with Jason Senti and Mike Sexton earlier today. Collopy has a nice stack after winning a big pot with a flush against a set, and he also brought us up to speed on what happened to Sexton and Senti.

Jason Senti was short and pushed all-in for his last 1,325 from the cut off and he got called by the big blind who tabled {J-}{10-}. The former WSOP Main Event finalist showed {10-}{9-} and couldn't find a way out. Mike Sexton raise-called all-in with {K-}{Q-} and ran into {a-}{K-}. Also no help for the WSOP bracelet winner who lost his chips early on.

Kings For Failla

Will "The Thrill" Failla raised to 375 in early position and Ylon Schwartz decided he wanted to see the flop from the big blind. The flop was a lowly looking {8-Clubs} {5-Spades} {2-Spades} and Schwartz check-called a 400 Failla bet. Next we had the customary checked turn {6-Clubs} before {9-Clubs} was shown on fifth street. Schwartz checked to Failla who bet 500 and after a slightly puzzled look, Schwartz made the call. Failla turned over {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} and it was enough to win the pot.

Gates Takes Some From Fricke

Jimmy Fricke just lost a decent sized pot against fan favorite Garry Gates. Gates told us he called a raise from the cut off with {7-Hearts}{7-} from Fricke who also saw the big blind call. De flop came down {8-}{2-}{6-} with two hearts and Fricke bet 525, both players called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and all three players checked. On the river the {9-Hearts} hit the felt and Fricke fired 1,400. Gates made the call and the big blind folded. Fricke showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for ace high and Gates took down the pot with his small flush.

Kathy Liebert is Out; Carter Phillips Looking Strong

QQ and KK not good enough for the Pokerkat
QQ and KK not good enough for the Pokerkat

Kathy Liebert has been eliminated after having a fairly torrid afternoon. She had {Q-} {Q-} cracked by {A-} {Q-} and in her final hand she had {K-} {K-} cracked by {A-} {K-}. So Liebert has gone but Carter Phillips has joined the table instead. Carter is sat on a mouth watering stack of 32,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu has a more modest 2,400.

Ylon Schwartz Has Been Eliminated

Ylon Schwartz during happier times
Ylon Schwartz during happier times

The 2008 WSOP Main Event 4th place finisher, Ylon Schwartz, is out. There was a 350 raise and a cold caller before Schwartz moved all-in for 2,700 more holding {A-} {K-}. One player folded and one player called, holding {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, and the board ran out with a sufficient number of clubs to send Schwartz away from the table and out of the competition.
