Charette Five-Bets

Artem Metalidi opened a recent hand and made it 50,000 to see a flop. Directly on his left was Simon Charette who three-bet to 129,000. The blinds folded and action was back to Metalidi who quietly and deliberately four-bet to 275,000. Charette then moved all in and Metalidi quickly folded.

Charette was nice enough to show one card though, the {4-Spades}.

The Simon Show

Simon Charette has been pressing a lot of the action lately and it's been working out nicely so far.

In a recent hand, Charette opened to 52,000 from the cutoff position and was called by Luis Rodriguez Cruz on the button and Foster Hays on the big blind.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Hays checked to Charette, who bet 77,000. Cruz called and Hays got out of the way.

The turn came the {9-Diamonds} and, not backing down, Charette bet 202,000. Cruz didn't take long to slide his cards into the muck.

Charette is back up to 2,100,000.

The Check-Raise

We were heads up when the flop came {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}. First to act was Artem Metalidi who checked to the bettor, Eddie Blumenthal. Blumenthal made it 58,000 and received a call fairly quickly. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn saw to checks.

A {q-Clubs} on the river brought a third check from Metalidi, and a 133,000 bet from Blumenthal. After a few moments Metalidi pushed out a stack of 425,000 and Blumenthal threw his cards away.

Blumenthal Gets Three Streets of Value

Eddie Blumenthal opened to 42,000 from under-the-gun and found one caller in Luis Rodriguez Cruz in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Cruz checked, prompting a 48,000 c-bet from Blumenthal. Cruz called.

The turn brought a {K-Diamonds}, Cruz again check-called, this time for 68,000.

The river fell the {7-Hearts} and Cruz check-called a final bet of 109,000 from Blumenthal, who revealed {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of nines. Cruz mucked his hand and Blumenthal scooped the pot.

Hays Makes it Happen

Foster Hays opened for 45,000 and action folded around to Simon Charette on the button who made the call. The blinds folded and the board came {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Hays bet out 62,000 and received a call from Charette. A {4-Hearts} on the turn saw a check from Hays and a bet of 75,000 from Charette. A call was made and both players were off to see the river.

The {8-Clubs} river brought another check-call from Hays, this time for 176,000. Hays showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a full house jacks over fours, and Charette flipped over {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for two pair kings and jacks.

Elky Grospellier 6th place
Elky Grospellier 6th place

Luis Rodriguez Cruz opened to 41,000 from under-the-gun and action folded over to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier in the cutoff, who went all-in for his last 260,000. Artem Metalidi tanked and decided to cold-call from the small blind. All others folded and hands were revealed.

Grospellier: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Metalidi: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Grospellier had a slight lead going into the flop, however, the board ran out {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, which paired up Metalidi's king and sent Grospellier to the rail in 6th place.
