Mueller the First One Home

Just one player has been busted from this event so far and it happens to be Greg Mueller. When we came to the table, Mueller was involved in a hand with JJ Liu and Victor Ramdin. At this point there was a flop showing {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Mueller was leading out from the small-blind position. Liu got out of the way and Ramdin called to see a {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. This time when Mueller lead, Ramdin would make it three bets to go. Mueller then made it four bets and Ramdin called. Muller only had 200 chips left as the dealer flipped over a {4-Hearts} on the river and would flick those chips in. A call from Ramdin and the players would turn their hands over.

Mueller: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Ramdin: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Mueller would need an ace that would never come as the {4-Hearts} river would send Mueller home with a min-cash. Table 408 is now down to just four players.

Ramdin Hits a Boat

With the board reading {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Victor Ramdin bet out. Brian Aleksa called and Justin Bonomo tossed out a raise. Ramdin three-bet and Aleksa got out of the way. Bonomo called the three-bet and the two players were off to the river.

The dealer produced the {A-Hearts} on the river and once again Ramdin continued with his aggression. Bonomo threw out one more call.

"Full house," said Ramdin, showing {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Bonomo mucked his cards and Ramdin was able to drag in the pot.

Another One Bites the Dust

Table 405 has recently lost a player and we were there to catch how it went down. Jerid Zewin opened the cutoff and the short-stacked Mike Leah called out of the big blind. A {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop would see Leah check-raise a bet from Zewin and then Zewin would put in a third bet. At this point Leah got the remainder of his chips in and the two players turned their hands over.

Mike Leah: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Zewin: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Leah was in trouble, but still had some outs. However it would be all over as the dealer flipped over the {7-Spades} turn and the {4-Hearts} river. With Leah's elimination, Table 405 is down to four.

Table 409 Down One

Wandering past Table 409 and we noticed that the remainder of Leonid Bilokur's chips were going in the opposite direction of his stack. That means this table is down to four and here is how their chip stacks are looking.

Sterling Gone; Matros On Top at Table 404

We caught up to see Matt Sterling raise before the flop. Thomas Corrigan called from the button and Matt Matros called from the big blind.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and action checked to Matt Sterling who continued out. Corrigan called and Matros pushed out a raise. Sterling three-bet and Corrigan got out of the way. Matros four-bet and Sterling called.

The {6-Diamonds} came on the turn and Matros bet out. Sterling called and the {Q-Hearts} fell on the river. Matros bet and received a call one more time before tabling {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a straight. Sterling mucked his hand and was left with about 1,500.

The next hand Sterling got most of his chips all in before the flop against Millie Shiu and Thomas Corrigan. When Shiu bet out on {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}, Corrigan called and Sterling put in his last 300. Shiu bet the {7-Diamonds} turn and Corrigan called into the side pot.

Both players checked the {J-Clubs} river and Corrigan turned up {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for ace high. Shiu and Sterling mucked their hands and Sterling became the first casualty of table 404.

Corrigan the Shortie

Over on Table 404, Thomas Corrigan is currently the short stack, but it could be worse. Corrigan was down to around 8,000 before the following hand played out. Folded to Millie Shiu in the small blind, she flicked in the raise and Corrigan called out of the big blind.

On the {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Shiu led out and Corrigan raised it up. A call from Shiu and a {8-Hearts} hit the turn. This time Shiu would check call a bet from Corrigan and the {9-Clubs} was the final card dealt on the felt. Shiu again checked and so too did Corrigan as he turned over {k-}{4-}. It was enough to send Shiu's cards into the muck, flashing {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} as she did so.

Chang Left Short

We recently caught the action on Table 410 with a board showing {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Stephanie Nguyen involved in a hand with Juijen Chang.

It was Chang first to act in the small-blind position, with him opting to check. Nguyen then fired out a bet from the button and Chang called. A {k-Spades} on the river and again Chang would bet and Nguyen flick out a bet. When Change made the call, Nguyen tabled here {j-Spades}{10-Spades}, with two-pair enough to pick up the pot and take a chunk of Chang's chips.
