We caught up to see Brock Parker lead out on the river against Mike Thorpe. Thorpe raised and Parker quickly tossed out a three-bet. Thorpe was clearly upset by this bet, but called anyway. Parker tabled for a flush, catching his fifth spade on the river.
Thorpe showed a , making the wheel on the turn and flung his cards away. Since then Thorpe has been able to double up a few times, but is still on life support.
When we arrived at Table 407, there was a flop showing and Brian Mienders and Chad Layne were busy continuing their heads-up battle. Meinders lead on the flop and Layne raised it up as a hit the turn. This time Meinders would check-call a bet and then do the same when the hit the river. When Layne table his , it was enough to take down the pot and pick up some much needed chips.
Despite taking down that pot, Layne's stack has been bleeding chips as Meinders is still edging closer to the final table.
Over on Table 404, Millie Shiu is steadily gaining a chip lead over the table. She currently has the majority of the chips, while Matt Matros' stack is heading in the other direction.
We caught up to table 404 to see Matt Matros raise from the button. Millie Shiu called from the small blind and Preston Derden decided to tag along from the big.
The flop fell and all three players checked. Fourth street brought the and two players checked to Matros who fired out a bet. Shiu folded and Derden called. The completed the board and Derden checked to Matros for a third time. Matros bet out and Derden called.
"I've got a king," said Matros, showing . Derden looked remarkably peeved that Matros caught the king on the river and sent his hand sailing to the muck.
Despite winning this pot, three-time bracelet winner Matt Matros is trailing behind table chip leader Millie Shiu.
Alexander Keating has been eliminated from Table 411, thrusting Christopher Hartman and Blake Cahail into heads up play. The winner of this heads up match will progress to the final table tomorrow.
