Table 404 recently saw the elimination of Jerid Zewin, leaving Darin Thomas and Daniel walker to battle it out heads up on the felt.
At the next table over, three-time bracelet winner Matt Matros was eliminated. This leaves Millie Shiu heads up with Preston Derden. If Shiu can best Derden heads up, she will have a chance to be first woman to win a bracelet in an open event since 2008. This is looking possible, as Shiu currently has a strong chip advantage.
Matthew Schreiber has taken his chip lead in heads-up play all the way to a victory against Michael Reed. Schreiber will start tomorrow's final table with 159,500 in chips.
With the board reading , Tom Koral bet out and Christopher Vitch called. The fell on the river and Koral bet one more time. Vitch pushed out a raise and Koral looked quite distraught. Koral peeked at his cards several times, pondering the decision before finally mucking his hand.
This hand only increases Vitch's lead in this heads up battle.
Over at the heads-up battle on Table 408, Justin Bonomo and Victor Ramdin took to a flop with Bonomo on the button and Ramdin first to act. A tap on the table from Ramdin and Bonomo would bet. Ramdin then put in the check-raise and Bonomo called as a hit the turn. This time Ramdin would lead out and after some thought, Bonomo let his cards go.
So far it seems Ramdin and Bonomo have been sharing chips around, with no overly large pot going either way.
Christopher Vitch has had Tom Koral on the ropes for a while now, and the two players finally got it all in before the flop. A short-stacked Koral had against Vitch's .
The door card brought hope for Koral as it was the . The rest of the flop was not so kind, however, as it finished out with the and the , pairing Vitch's top card. The turned and the rivered, sealing up Vitch's victory.
"Had to give me the seven, didn't you?" asked a dejected Koral to the dealer. Koral will take home $3,088 in prize money.
Vitch, however, will be moving on to the final table tomorrow and taking 162,000 chips with him.
The players are back from the break and ready to play some more limit hold'em. Currently all remaining tables are heads-up, except for Table 403 which is three-handed.
Back from the break and Justin Bonomo is struggling to run his stack up. Recently when we were by his table we noticed that Bonomo and Ramdin had played out a hand until a board had run out. There was over 20,000 already in the pot and Ramdin led out with a bet on the river. Bonomo tanked for a little while before opting to let his hand go. Bonomo now has only a few big bets.
