Chance Kornuth is the Bubble Boy

(L-R) Kornuth and Kester
(L-R) Kornuth and Kester

We caught the action on a flop of {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades}, 12,500 in the pot and three players in the hand. Galen Kester was in the small blind and checked, a player in mid-position also checked and Chance Kornuth bet 'pot' on the button. Kester made the call, the mid-position player folded and we had a showdown with Kornuth at risk of elimination.

Kester{J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts}
Kornuth{K-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Clubs} {7-Spades}

So Kester was ahead on the flop. The turn card was the {8-Clubs} and the river {3-Spades} and Kornuth was eliminated in 64th position and becomes the last person to leave this tournament penniless.

Brar Holds a Bust For O'Dea

Last year the O'Dea family name was thrust back into the spotlight of world poker when Eoghan O'Dea finished in 6th place in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for $1,720,831.

Long before little Eoghan could even say poker his father Donnacha was winning a WSOP bracelet playing Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), Unfortunately, for O'Dea senior he will not be making it bracelet number two as he just bust a few places shy of the money.

We believe he was fairly short when he found himself all-in - and good - versus Jaspal Brar.

O'Dea{A-} {K-} {K-} {J-}
Brar{A-} {Q-} {Q-} {J-}

So Brar needed some support (we know) and it arrived in the form of a {Q-} {6-} {6-} flop. The turn and river did not contain any form of amazing comeback for O'Dea and he was out.

Barch Eliminates Bowker

Tex Barch has close to $3 million in World Series of Poker (WSOP) earnings that includes a 3rd place finish in the 2005 Main Event and a bracelet won in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2010. He also has a Kyle Bowker scalp courtesy of the following hand.

We didn't see when the money went in, but we did see the hand of Barch, the board and the back of Bowker's head as he left the table.

Barch was holding {A-Spades} {7-Spades} {9-Clubs} {5-Hearts} for the nut flush on a board of {2-Spades} {8-Spades} {3-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. He is now up to 117,000 and Bowker is out.

Paez Busts Jorshari

Milad Jorshari raised to 3,400 from late position and Raul Paez called from the big blind to see the flop come down {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Both players checked and the dealer placed the {J-Spades} out on the turn. Paez checked and Jorshari bet 7,400. Paez made it 20,000 to go and then Jorshari went all in for 35,400. Paez called.

Paez: {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Jorshari: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Paez's flush was better than Jorshari's to send him to the rail. Paez now has 240,000 in chips and has retaken the lead.

One for Kornuth

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

From under the gun, Chance Kornuth raised to 3,200. Shawn Buchanan called in the cutoff seat and the flop came down {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Kornuth and Buchanan checked.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and both checked again to see the {6-Hearts} on the river. Kornuth bet 4,800 and Buchanan gave it up.
