Tepen Triples, Lindgen Over 200k

Ryan Tepen
Ryan Tepen

Ryan Tepen started off a hand by simply moving all in for 14,500 from early position, before Erick Lindgren called and Brian Brubaker three-bet to 40,000 from the small blind.

The action was back on Lindgren and he four-bet to 70,000. There was a lot of confusion whether it was a legal raise or not. It was deemed so and Brubaker called.

He and Tepen drew one and Lindgren stood pat, then the action was checked through.

Tepen took the main pot with {10-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Lindgren took the much bigger side pot with {j-}{7-}{8-}{5-}{3-}. Brubaker mucked.

Michael Benvenuti Eliminated in 14th Place ($4,682)

Michael Benvenuti - 14th place
Michael Benvenuti - 14th place

Michael Benvenuti is the latest player to walk into the unstoppable force that is Michael Mizrachi.

He opened to 4,000 from the cut-off and was called by Larry Wright on the button before Mizrachi quickly three-bet to 20,000 from the big blind. Benvenuti thought for a minute and moved all in for around 66,000.

Wright then went into a very animated tank. He dragged his T-shirt up his torso so his belly button was exposed (probably his comfortable thinking zone!). This didn't do the trick so he pulled out a coin and flipped it so it almost landed on Mizrachi.

This didn't prompt an immediate decision and Mizrachi said, "Heads you fold, tails you fold?"

"It told me to fold but I don't want to," replied Wright. Eventually he did fold, and Mizrachi made the call and stood pat.

Mizrachi: {10-}{9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}.
Benvenuti drew one to go with {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. He was heartbroken to see a a {q-} appear to bust him.

Jesse Martin Eliminated in 15th Place ($3,762)

Jesse Martin
Jesse Martin

Erick Lindgren is on a roll and knocked out another player. He raised from the cut-off and called when Jesse Martin moved all in for around 36,000 from the big blind.

"Damn," said Lindgren when Martin tank-stood pat. That seemed to force him into breaking a card.

Martin opened {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{2-}.
Lindgren had {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and drew a {6-} to lock up the hand.

The tournament is down to a two-table affair now, and the players have been redrawn again. We'll bring the new draw to you very shortly.

Bradley Libson Eliminated in 17th Place ($3,762), Michael Smith Eliminated in 16th Place ($3,762)

Michael Smith - 17th Place
Michael Smith - 17th Place

We missed Bradley Libson's exit but it was Erick Lindgren who came back and finished the job off on Michael Smith.

Lindgren raised from under the gun and called when Smith shoved. Smith stood pat with {j-}{10-}{8-}{6-}{5-}.

Lindgren was in great shape to win with {8-}{6-}{3-}{2-}. He need to avoid a pair or any card higher than a jack. He managed that with a {10-}.

Richard Castro Eliminated in 18th Place ($3,762)

Richard Castro
Richard Castro

Richard Castro was really short, and he just lost his final chips against chip leader Brandon Cantu.

Castro told us he drew two cards and ended up with {A-}{10-}{6-}{5-}{3-} while Cantu stood pat with a monster hand, {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

We are down to 17 players, and there will be another redraw as soon as we reach the final 14.

Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman

The lovely Jennifer Harman has been eliminated by Michael Mizrachi, who's right back on the heels of Brandon Cantu.

We saw Harman leaving her seat and we dashed over to see that she drew one and paired up with {8-}{6-}{5-}{2-} - {8-}. Mizrachi had {10-}{9-}{5-}{4-}{2-} out in front of him and took the pot.

Smith in Danger

From the big blind Larry Wright just took one card after which Michael Smith, who was under the gun, stood pat.

Wright checked to his opponent who bet 4,500, and quickly he made the call.

Smith turned over {10-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{3-} but that wasn't good enough against {9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Smith is one of the short stacks with just under ten big blinds left.
