Event 34: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha - Six-Handed
Day 2 Started
Yesterday saw 419 players enthusiastically take their seats for the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed competition. This morning, only 72 players can possibly win that coveted gold bracelet and first prize of $512,029. Leading that group of hopefuls is one of the most experienced players in the world. There is not a game of poker that David Benyamine has not been involved with at some point in time. Benyamine has played in cash games with stakes so high, they would give normal men vertigo, plus he can play virtually all forms of poker and play them well. But maybe the greatest thing that the Frenchman has going for him is his experience. Benyamine has been there, done it and has bought the t-shirt with, "I am a World Series of Poker bracelet holder," sewn into the fabric.
But Benyamine is going to have his work cut out at the top of the charts, because there is a whole host of talent trying to depose him from is temporary throne. Shaun Deeb, Scott Bohlman and David Colin are another three people with over 200,000 chips. Add Kevin MacPhee and Joseph Cheong into that top ten and you know what we're talking about!
Day 2 of the amazing $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha - Six-Handed event starts at 13:00 PM, live and direct from the Amazon Room in the world famous Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. If you can't be there then take the next best seat, here with us at PokerNews.

Here is a flavour of the early action today.
Bruno Fitoussi came into Day 2 as the second lowest in chips with just 17,900 chips. He won his first hand of the day but was eliminated soon afterwards by Brent Roberts. We didn't see the action but Roberts now has 65,000 chips and Fitoussi is no longer in his seat.
Toan Trinh is searching for his third deep run in this years World Series. He has already locked up a 14th place finish Event #23 and a 7th place finish in Event #28. Here is Trinh tangling with Adam Kornuth.
We joined the action on a flop of with Trinh in the big blind and Kornuth attacked from the button. Kornuth had bet 5,400 and Trinh had check-raised to 12,000. Kornuth made the call and we headed to the turn of . Trinh moved a tower of twenty 1k yellow chips into the middle and Kornuth folded.

Former World Series of Poker (WSOP) final tablist Brent Roberts has just suffered a low after his recent elimination of Bruno Fitoussi. Roberts has just doubled up Edmilson Oliveira and this is how.
We joined the action on a flop of , Brent Roberts checked from the big blind before Oliveira bet pot. The amount was approx. 12,600, which left Oliveira with just 2,000 behind. Roberts tanked for a while before putting Oliveira all-in but his facial expressions said it all - he wasn't happy about it.

Naoya Kihara and Tom Marchese were involved in a hand that reached the river and the pot had swelled to around 27,000 chips.
Kihara checked to Marchese who fired 18,500 into the middle. We approached the table at this point so we're not sure how long Kihara had been in the tank for but we're assuming it was too long with .
That's because a couple of players at his table shook their heads when he finally called with the winning full house. Marchese mucked.
