With about 5,700 in the pot and a board reading , David "ODB" Baker fired out 3,300 from the big blind into Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. The latter thought for a moment before releasing. It wasn't much of a hand, but it was a good excuse for us to get you updated on their respective chip counts.
We noticed Phil Hellmuth, who had late registered for this event, was no longer seated over at Table 360. We checked with former table mate Chris "PiMaster" Viox for the details, but all he could tell us was: "I don't think he ever won a hand."
"Did he ever win a hand?" Viox then asked Gavin Smith across the table. Smith, who had his chair turned around and was receiving a massage, simply smirked and shook his head, "No."
Whatever the case, the late reg didn't work for the "Poker Brat" and he won't be capturing bracelet number thirteen in this event.
A player in early position, who we'll call "EP," opened for 400 and received calls from Doyle Brunson on the button and Kris Lord in the big blind. The latter checked the flop and allowed EP to bet 700, which both Brunson and Lord called.
All three players proceeded to check the turn and it went check-check to Brunson on the river. He paused for a brief moment before putting together some chips and firing out a healthy bet of 2,600. Lord didn't seem eager to make the call, but he did so nonetheless while EP got out of the way.
Brunson didn't waste any time in sending his hand to the muck unexposed, prompting Lord to showed to take down the pot.
TexDolly Doyle BrunsonI must be crazy. After playing cash for 8 hours, I entered the 2500 mix. So boringJune 19 2012
