Clements Takes Clip

The action was opened by Scott Clements in the cutoff. The player in the small blind then three-bet shoved all-in, making it an extra 5,450 to go. Clements tanked for some time before eventually opting to make the call.

Clements: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Clements was in bad shape and by the time the board had run out {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, he was in no better shape as he sent the pot to his opponent.

A Huge Stack

Out of the around 500 players remaining, there are plenty of stacks between forty and sixty thousand. Apart from the odd 75,000-chip stack, that's about where it tops out. However one player who has soared above the rest to sit as the chip leader is Hungary's Gergely Meszaros.

No Luck for Negreanu

When we arrived at Daniel Negreanu's table, he was pondering a decision, with the player on the button having his stack all-in. Negreanu thought hard as his opponent stared stoically at the felt. It was 7,800 more to go and eventually Negreanu tumbled in the call in and the two players turned their hands over.

"Well i'm glad i called," said Negreanu as his opponent turned over {8-Spades}{5-Spades}, which was not in great shape against Negreanu's {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

When the {3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop was spread on the felt, Negreanu's opponent took the lead and when the turn ({a-Hearts}) and the river ({k-Spades}) changed nothing, Negreanu sent a portion of his chips in the opposite direction.
