Snippets From the Floor

  • Team PokerStars Pro Richard Toth applying pressure to an opponent. He three-bet to 10,500 from the button to force a player who raised to 4,400 from under the gun to fold.
  • Isaac Haxton raised to 4,000 from mid position and was only called by Jim Collopy on the button. Both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades} flop before Collopy folded to an 8,800 bet on the {3-Spades} turn.
  • Zachary Korik is building a nice stack, a lot to do with always seemingly having chips in the middle. He bet the turn and the river of an {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board from the big blind. His opponent on the button called both times and then mucked upon seeing Korik's {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

Busto in the Money

Agression Works for One, not the Other.

Layne Flack bet 30,000 on the river of a {2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Hearts} board but snap-folded to a min raise from his opponent.

Michael Benvenuti had more success with his line. He was in a battle of the blinds and led for 5,000 on a {6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Spades} flop. His big blinded opponent raised to 12,000 and tank-folded when Benvenuti came back over the top with a raise to 25,000.

Tabb on the Up

Steven Tabb is sitting behind one of the larger stacks in the room and we recently watched him take down another little pot.

The hand in question began when Tabb opened it up to 4,300 from middle position. The player directly on his left made the call and so did the big blind as a {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop was dealt. The big blind checked here and Tabb bet 3,800. That was enough to scare both opponents away as he raked in the pot.
