Selbst took a large hit to her stack earlier this level in a hand we unfortunately missed. However, she was able to chip up a bit in a recent hand.
We caught up with the action on a flop with four players. The player in the small blind checked and Layne Flack bet 1,200 from the big blind. Selbst went all in directly behind him for her last 8,000. The player in the hijack called cold and everyone else got out of the way.
Selbst: for an open-ended straight draw.
Opponent: for a pair of aces.
The turn gave Selbst's opponent a set, but simultaneously gave Selbst a superior straight. The river kept Selbst in the lead and she more than doubled up to 18,000.
Brock Parker is wrecking his table, it seems. The two-time bracelet winner was recently able to bust another player and send his stack over six figures.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko opened to 900 from the hijack and found caller in both the players in the cutoff and button.
The flop brought and Timoshenko c-bet for 1,500. His opponent directly behind him raised to 3,200 and the player on the button got out of the way. Timoshenko, deliberate as usual, took his time and made the call.
Both players checked the turn, however, after Timoshenko checked the river, his opponent announced that he was all in, which was enough to put Timoshenko at risk.
Timoshenko fell hard into the tank. He stared at the table with a look of steadfast concentration and took a deep breath. After puzzling for about three minutes, Timoshenko finally slid his hand into the muck.
Timoshenko is sitting on 13,000 following the hand.
Brock Parker has been crushing since his return from dinner. He recently tweeted about a hand he was involved in that propelled him to nearly 80,000 and busted Barry Greenstein in the process.

Obrestad's opponent kept aggressive and fired 2,600 into the middle. Obrestad called. Her opponent slowed down and checked when a fell on the turn and Obrestad underbet the pot for 1,700. The player in the small blind called.
The completed the board and Obrestad's opponent checked again, prompting a hefty 7,300 bet from Obrestad. Her opponent tanked for a bit and verbally announced, "Call." Obrestad flipped over for sevens-full of queens and her opponent rapped the table and mucked.
Vanessa Selbst opened to 900 from early position and was met with an all-in shove for about 6,000 from a player in middle position. Action folded back around to Selbst, who asked for a count. She then called.

Nope. It was a .
"Thank you, Vanessa," Selbst's opponent playfully needled as he scooped the pot. Selbst declined to reply.
Selbst still has plenty of chips, however, as the hit only knocked her back to 23,000.
Today's event drew a total of 1,394 players, which generated a very nice prizepool of $3,805,620. Of those players, 144 will get paid at least $5,937 and the winner of the gold bracelet will take home $742,072 - not too shabby.
