Mittelman Doubles Through Elia

Kevin Elia opened to 80,000 from the cutoff position and directly behind him, Niel Mittelman called from the button. Everyone else got out of the way and it was heads-up going to the flop.

Flop: {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Elia checked to Mittelman, who fired 80,000 into the middle. Elia then check-raised to 185,000 and Mettelman made the call.

The turn brought a {4-Hearts} and Elia pushed all in. Mittelman tanked, but eventually called all in for 1,125,000 and hands were revealed.

Mittelman: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a set of fours.
Elia: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for queen-high.

Elia was drawing to a chop, but the {4-Hearts} river left Mittelman with quads and he doubled through to 2,225,000.

Elia is down to 600,000 following the massive blow.

Palumbo Rocking His Way to Lead

Rocco Palumbo now holds more than one third of all the chips in play, courtesy of the following hand between him and Niel Mittelman.

It was a three-bet pot that saw a {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop hit the felt. Mittelman opted to check-raise on the flop, making it 210,000 after Palumbo led for 76,000. Palumbo made the call and a {k-Diamonds} would land on the turn.

This time Mittelman led for 250,000 and Palumbo quickly called. The {5-Spades} on the river would see Mittelman again lead, this time for a large 800,000.

When Palumbo again called, Mittelman said, "You're good," as he turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Palumbo held {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and raked in the giant pot.

Robinson Makes the Double

Nelson Robinson open shoved his short stack all in and received a quick call from Jason Everett in small blind. Robinson was in front at this point, with his {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} needing to dodge some cards against Everett's {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board was a safe one for Robinson, ensuring he took the double up to survive.

The last hand Patrick Karschamroon's tournament began when Thomas Conway opened the pot to 52,000. Jason Everett then three-bet to 112,000 and it was on Karschamroon who shoved all in for just over 300,000. Conway got out of the way and Everett snapped off the call.

Karschamroon: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Everett: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

By the time the turn had run out on a {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board, Karschamroon was looking for the lone eight of clubs to survive. The {k-Hearts} wasn't what he was looking for and Karschamroon was sent home in eighth place.

Mittelman Getting Aggressive

Anke Berner opened the action with a raise and was promptly three-bet to 125,000 by Niel Mittelman on her direct left.

Flop: {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

On the flop, Berner led for 160,000 and Mittelman shoved his giant stack all in. He had Berner covered by a huge amount and the last lady standing went deep into the tank.

"I fold," Berner eventually uttered as Mittelman took down the large pot and left Berner as one of the short stacks.
