Fricke Doesn't Get There

Action folded to the cutoff who tossed out a raise only to find Jimmy Fricke instantly three-bet from the button. It folded back to the original raiser who called.

The flop was {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Fricke's opponent check-called a bet. The {8-Diamonds} turned and once again Fricke's opponent check-called a bet from Fricke.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board and both players checked.

"Pretty much nothing," said Fricke. His opponent showed {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a turned pair of eights and enough to win the pot.

Brunson Pushes Opponent Out

On a flop of {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, a player checked to Todd Brunson. Brunson casually tossed out a bet and his opponent thought for about twenty seconds before calling.

The turn paired the board, bringing the {6-Spades}. Once again Brunson's opponent checked and Brunson fired a second bullet. His opponent only had about 6,000 behind and after some pondering about the hand, decided to save it for a better spot. Brunson dragged int he pot and is currently sitting at 30,000 in chips.

Keller vs. Cohen

Jonathan Cohen (Event 14) calls the clock on Keller.
Jonathan Cohen (Event 14) calls the clock on Keller.

Board: {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Shawn Keller led out, and Brandon Young put in a raise. Keller went into the tank for a minute or so, before Jonathan Cohen, who recently finished runner-up in Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout, said something about Keller taking too long.

"I mean I'll call the clock," Mothel Krymchantowski added. "I don't care."

"You got somewhere to go?" Keller asked Cohen.

"It's LIMIT," Cohen shot back.

Cohen and Krymchantowski continued talking about how long it was taking, until Cohen finally called the clock. Keller tanked for a little longer, then released his hand.

"Nice hand," he told Young, who pulled in the pot.

Keller wasn't happy about Cohen calling the clock on him, and Cohen continued berating Keller.

"Didn't you have a plan when you bet out?" he asked him. "Didn't you think about what you'd do if he raised?"

"Whatever, kid," Keller responded.

Cohen didn't stop.

"I like the 'got a hot date?' line too," he said. "No one would ask you that."

"I'm married, dude," Keller told him.

There was a little more back-and-forth while we were leaving, but Keller finally decided to put his headphones on. We'll continue to monitor the situation in case any other altercations occur.

Boyd's Boat Bests Brunson

Dutch Boyd Running Things
Dutch Boyd Running Things

We recently found Dutch Boyd and Todd Brunson looking down at a board of {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Boyd check-called a bet from Brunson and the two were off to the river.

The dealer rapped the table and produced the {9-Diamonds} which paired the board. Boyd opted to lead out on this board only to have Brunson raise. Boyd sat motionless for a moment before moving a three-bet into the middle. Brunson quickly called and saw Boyd show {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for sevens full of nines. Brunson shot his hand to the muck and Boyd scooped the rather large pot.

Afterwards, we found Brunson tweet about what he had during the hand:

The very next hand while Boyd was still stacking his chips he tossed out a button raise and eventually got it in against a severely short-stacked player on the turn. The board ended up reading {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Boyd's {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for jack-high was able to reduce the field by one.

Brenes Doubles Through Boyd

Humberto Brenes opened from early position with a raise and it folded to Dutch Boyd who called from his big blind.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and both players checked to see a turn of {5-Clubs}. Boyd led out with a bet and Brenes tanked for about a minute before raising all in for 2,200 more on top. Boyd called and showed {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, his ace-high being ahead of Brenes' {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

Brenes found fortune on the river, however, when the {Q-Clubs} peeled off, giving him a pair of queens and the best hand.
