Madsen Doubles

After four limps for 100, Jeff Madsen moved all in for 11,500. Two players folded and another moved all in over the top. The rest of the table mucked their hands and the two hands were tabled with Madsen's tournament life at risk.

Madsen: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

The flop fell {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{A-Clubs} giving Madsen's opponent a pair of aces. Fortunately for Madsen, the nine of clubs also gave him a set. The {8-Hearts} rolled off on the turn and the {Q-Hearts} completed the board, giving the 2006 World Series of Poker Player of the Year a much needed double up.

Men Gets There

Men "The Master" Nguyen
Men "The Master" Nguyen

With the flop reading {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} Men Nguyen moved all in for 19,700. Barny Boatman quickly made the call and the four other players in the hand folded.

Nguyen: {10-}{8-}
Boatman: {J-}{j-}

Boatman held the advantage for now with the superior pair of jacks. Nguyen still had two cards to come and could potentially grab hold of something.

The {a-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing, but the {10-} on the river changed everything. Nguyen hit three of a kind tens and stole the lead from Boatman, prompting a few excited "yes!"s from Nguyen.

Lindgren Takes Down Massive Pot

After four limps for 100, Erick Lindgren made it 7,500 from the button. The opponent to his immediately left pushed out a three-bet to 23,000 and the rest of the table folded back to Lindgren. Lindgren thought for about thirty seconds before throwing out a call.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Lindgren's opponent continued out for 22,000. Lindgren pondered for a bit once again before calling the bet.

The {J-Clubs} fell on fourth street and Lindgren's opponent moved all in. This time Lindgren acted quickly, snapping with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades} for flopped trips. His opponent showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and was behind.

The {Q-Diamonds} finished the board and Lindgren was able to send one home and significantly increase his stack.

The Master Loses A Race Then Doubles

We found Men "The Master" Nguyen call the all in of a short stack player. Nguyen held {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and was racing with his opponent's {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

The board fell {7-Clubs}[3h}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Nguyen was unable to pair up while his opponent made a set of deuces.

Several hands later, however, Nguyen was able to score a double up with small pairs when his pocket threes got it in preflop against {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Nguyen's treys held and he was able to double up to about 20,000.
