Brown Busto

When we got to the table, a short stacked Chad Brown was all in preflop holding {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} against two players, one holding {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, the other {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. It wasn't looking good for Brown, and the board provided no miracles, coming down {2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}, sending Brown to the rail.

Negreanu Knocks Out Harman

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Good friends Daniel Negreanu and Jennifer Harman were at the same table for the last few levels, and now there is only one of them left. We missed the preflop action, but we saw that Harman got her short stack in preflop with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} against the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} of Negreanu. The flop kept Harman safe, coming {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}, but the turn changed the tides, coming the {a-Spades}. Harman did pick up a flush draw with this turn, but she couldn't hit it, as the river brought the {8-Hearts}. Negreanu is now up to 38,000 after the hand.

6 levels are in the books, and the 310 remaining players are on their 90 minute dinner break. Cards will be back in the air at 8:15 local time.

Jaka Busts a Short Stack

Faraz Jaka started the action by raising in early position to 650. It folded around to a player in middle position, who shoved all in for 2,550, and it folded back around to Jaka, who quickly made the call.

Jaka: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The dealer fanned out an action packed flop of {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Jaka flopped trips, but his opponent picked up the nut flush draw. The turn came the {q-Diamonds}, and Jaka still needed to dodge a heart to win the pot. The river came the {a-Spades}, and Jaka collected the pot, upping his stack to 16,000 just before the dinner break.
