Allis Doubles Through Tabali

Action started with Keanu Tabali raising to 35,000 on the button. The small blind folded, and it was on Mike Allis in the big blind. He looked at his cards one at a time, saying "well that's a good one....that's a good one too". Allis thought for about two minutes, before grabbing the rest of his chips, and sliding them into the middle. He could only make it 110,000, leaving just 6,000 behind, and it was back to Tabali.

As soon as Allis moved the chips in, Tabali shot out of his chair. He was clearly pained by the decision, and spent about 3 minutes in the tank. He counted out the chips for the call, assessed the damage were he to lose, then slid them into the middle. He technically didn't announce raise, even though he put the 6,000 on top, so the money didn't officially go in until the flop.

Tabali: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Allis: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Tabali made a good call, as he was only a slight underdog on the coin flip, but the board ran dry for him, coming {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Allis collected the pot, upping his stack to 235,000, while Tabali plummets to under 90,000.

Corey Burbick
Corey Burbick

Action began with Corey Burbick, who raised from the hijack position. Directly behind him, Jonathan Aguiar re-raised pot and action folded back to Burbick, who announced he was all in. Aguiar called and it was a classic race situation.

Burbick: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Aguiar: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Aguiar eliminated Burbick with a set of nines.

Aguiar is now sitting on 260,000.

Kazuhito Oshima Eliminated in 14th Place ($9,075)

Kazuhito Oshima
Kazuhito Oshima

Kazuhito Oshima opened from early position to 30,000 and change and action folded around to Keanu Tabali on the button, who mulled over his decision and eventually re-raised enough to put Oshima all in. The blind folded and Oshima committed the rest of his stack.

Oshima: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Tabali: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Tabali stood up and put his hands on his head, obviously sweating the race. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts} giving Tabali the best hand with a straight.

"F***!" Tabali exclaimed, thinking he had lost the hand.

His tablemates corrected him, letting him know he indeed won the pot.

"Thank god we only have 40 minutes left," Tabali playfully said, "I can't think straight."

Tabali is up to 180,000 following the hand.

Jack Ellwood Eliminated in 13th ($9,075)

Jack Ellwood
Jack Ellwood

Jack Ellwood raised from under the gun +1 to 24,000, and Thom Werthmann was the lone caller in the big blind. The dealer put out a flop of {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, and Werthmann check called a bet of 22,000. The turn came the {k-Hearts}, and Werthmann checked again. Ellwood slid the rest of his stack, an even 100,000, into the middle, and Werthmann snap called him. However, it was determined that Ellwood could only bet 98,000, leaving himself just 2,000 behind. The players tossed the 2,000 in blind, and the river was the {k-Spades}.

Ellwood: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Werthmann: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Werthmann's full house bested Ellwood's two pair, and he was eliminated in 13th.

Pellegrino Doubles Through Werthmann In Biggest Pot of Tournament

What a way to end the night. Right before we hit 10 minutes on the clock to end the day, Bryan Pellegrino has just won a ginormous pot against Thom Werthmann to take a huge chip lead over the field. We missed the preflop action, but we saw that there was already about 60,000 in the middle when the dealer put out a flop of {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Pellegrino checked to Werthmann, who bet out 30,000. Pellegrino check raised it up to 68,000, and after about 10 seconds of thought, the following occured.

Werthmann: "I raise the pot".
Pellegrino: "I raise pot"
Werthmann: "I'm all in"
Pellegrino: "I call"

The action happened so fast that it was impossible to tell when one player was actually all in. The point was, a pot worth over 750,000 was about to be decided.

Pellegrino: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Werthmann: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Werthmann had a 56% chance of winning the pot to take a massive chip lead if he could avoid a three or a club. Well, the dealer killed any drama on the turn, as it came the {2-Clubs}. The meaningless river was the {q-Clubs}, and in a flash, Pellegrino jumped all the way up to 760,000, while Werthmann plummeted all the way down to 12,000, equal to one big blind. Time for chip and a chair?

James Mackey Eliminated in 11th Place($11,361)

James Mackey
James Mackey

Action folded to James Mackey on the button, and he raised to 24,000. Jonathan Aguiar was in the big blind, and he raised it up. Mackey shoved all in, and Aguiar called. The cards were tabled, and Aguiar was miles ahead.

Aguiar: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Mackey: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

"Are you kidding me?" is all that Mackey could muster up when he saw the cooler. The board provided no miracles for Mackey, coming down {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and Mackey was eliminated on the second to last hand of the night.

Thom Werthmann Eliminated in 10th Place ($11,361)

Thom Werthmann
Thom Werthmann

After being crippled by Bryan Pellegrino just a few hands before, Werthmann was all in in the big blind on the last hand of the night. Daniel Negreanu came in for a raise, and Jonathan Aguiar made the call. Those two were on the side, while Werthmann, who hadn't looked at his hand, was at risk.

Aguiar and Negreanu checked down a board of {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and Aguiar showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for king high, which was good enough to beat Negreanu. Werthmann revealed his cards one at a time. First...{7-Clubs}. Second...{8-Spades}. Eight high was no good for Werthmann, and he was sent to the rail.

And wow. Just like that we lose two players on the final two hands, and we are down to a final table right under the wire!
