Lex Left Shattered

Lex Veldhuis is no longer in this tournament and we were there to catch the action of his last moments. When we arrived at the table there was already a {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop showing and Veldhuis was first to act in the big blind position. He checked, Alessandro Sarro then bet 425, a player on his left called and the player on the button folded. Back on Veldhuis and he raised it up to 1,800. Sarro then re-raised it to 3,925 and the player on his left quickly got out of the way.

It didn't take long for Veldhuis to splash his entire stack into the pot, holding only a little more than Sarro's raise. Sarro made the call and the two players turned their hands over.

Veldhuis was in front at the moment, holding {8-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair, while Sarro's {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the flush draw would need some help. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn was safe for Veldhuis, but the {3-Hearts} on the river would see Veldhuis eliminated.
