Brian Saltus Eliminated in 12th Place ($12,259)

2-7 Limit Triple Draw

We arrived at Table 440 with Matthew Ashton having Brian Saltus all in on the last round of drawing in 2-7 Limit Triple Draw. Saltus drew one and Ashton stood pat. Ashton tabled his {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} and while we didn't catch all of Saltus' cards, as he quickly mucked them, we did see {5-}{5-} showing, meaning he was no chance against Ashton's jack-nine low.

For his 12th place finish, Saltus goes home with $12,259 in cash.

Renard Nearly Felted, Then Doubles

Omaha 8

Julien Renard and Thomas Chambers played a hand that saw Renard left with just 32,500. The board was {4-Spades} {K-Spades} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} and Chambers held {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {6-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Renard held {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} and Champers took 3/4 of the pot.

Two hands later he tripled up holding {Q-Clubs} {8-Spades} {6-Clubs} {3-Spades} on a board of {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} with a flush.

Vincent van der Fluit Eliminated in 13th Place ($9,481)

We didn't manage to catch the action, but we can confirm that Vincent van der Fluit has been eliminated in 13th place. This is Van der Fluit's third World Series of Poker cash of 2012.

With that, we are down to just 12 players and are doing a table redraw. We will have the final two tables posted soon.

Van der Fluit Wins One, Still Struggling

Pot-Limit Omaha

Vincent van der Fluit and Matthew Ashton have just played a hand of pot-limit omaha that has seen their stacks even out. It started with Ashton raising the pot on the button. Van der Fluit called in the big blind and a {10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop was dealt. Both players checked here and the {2-Clubs} hit the turn. This time, Van der Fluit bet pot and after some thought, Ashton folded.

Despite winning this small hand, Van der Fluit is still one of the short stacks in the tournament.
