Mike Wattel Eliminated in 14th Place ($9,481)

Mike Wattel - 14th Place
Mike Wattel - 14th Place

2-7 Limit Triple Draw

Michael Saltzburg opened up the action with a raise from under the gun and Mike Wattel committed the remainder of his tiny stack on his direct left. Scott Clements then called out of the small blind and Chris Bjorin got out of the way in the big blind.

Saltzburg drew one, Wattel drew two and Clements drew three. Clements check-called a bet here and then drew two, while Saltzburg stood pat. Wattel drew two and Clements then folded when Saltzburg bet. The last draw saw Wattel draw one and Saltzburg stay pat again.

Saltzburg tabled {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, with his ninety-seven good enough to see Wattel's cards into the muck, flashing a jack-eight low as he did so.

Kenney Still Alive

Omaha 8

Bryn Kenney got short stacked during the last level and doubled during the last hand. We caught up with the hand while the stacks were counted out on the river. Matthew Ashton had Kenney on the ropes.

Kenney: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds}
Ashton: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {2-Hearts}

The board ran {9-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and Kenney stayed alive with two pair.

Nassif Still Alive

Stud

Vanessa Selbst had Gabriel all in on 6th street and Nassif was drawing to a flush.

Selbst{Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Spades} {3-Diamonds}
Nassif{K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {X-}

Nassif got his last card and peeled it very slowly. He was happy to have found the {2-Clubs} to make his flush. Selbst would have preferred if had not taken his time.

Allen Chang Eliminated in 15th Place ($9,481)

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

When we arrived at Table 441, Allen Chang and Michael Saltzburg had both already drawn and Satlzburg was busy betting 30,000 into Chang. After a few moments, Chang moved all in for 99,100.

As soon as Saltzburg called, Chang said your good and got out of his chair. Saltzburg then showed {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Chang was heading away from the table in 15th place.

James Mackey Eliminated in 16th Place ($9,481)

Badugi

We came upon this hand as James Mackey had all his chips in the middle. Mackey and Selbst each drew three cards and Gabriel Nassif drew one.

Selbst: {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {6-Spades} {8-Hearts}
Nassif: {3-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {6-Hearts} {8-Clubs}
Mackey: {2-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {X-}

Mackey was elminated, Nassif was crippled and Selbst grabbed the chip lead.

Clements Wins at Stud

Stud

When we arrived at the table there was already plenty of chips in the pot and it was on fifth street during a hand of Stud. At this point Clements was all in for the remainder of his short stack and the cards were turned face up. Here is how it all looked by the end of the hand.

Scott Clements: {9-Spades}{8-Spades} / {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {2-Diamonds}
Mike Wattel: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts} / {10-Clubs}

With that, Clements raked in some much needed chips with his two-pair, while Wattel took a hit to his stack.

Mackey Slipping

Limit Hold'em

We didn't catch up with this hand until the river between James Mackey and Mike Gorodinsky. The board was {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} and there was already a sizable pot built.

Gorodinsky bet the river and Mackey tank-called. Gorodinsky tabled {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} and Mackey busted.

Lee Goldman Eliminated in 17th Place ($9,481)

Badugi

Lee Goldman has just hit the rail during a hand of Badugi. It started with Goldman raising it up from the hijack. Mike Wattel then three-bet from the cutoff. Goldman called and then drew one, while Wattel stood pat.

Goldman checked here and Wattel bet. Goldman called and only had one a small amount remaining. On the next draw, Goldman took one again and Wattel stood pat again. Goldman checked and Wattel bet. Goldman then called all in for 10,200. Here is how the cards looked at this point, with Goldman still drawing one, while Wattel had a ten-eight four-card badugi.

Wattel: {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Goldman: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Goldman peeled his card and said, "it's a diamond!" but then he turned over the {2-Diamonds}, with his pair sending his three-card badugi into the muck. With that, we are down to 16.
