We caught up with the action on the river to find Faraz Jaka looking down at a board of . With about 2,7000 in the pot the player in the small blind moved 2,500 into the middle.
Jaka thought for a while before folding face up, allowing the pot to be pushed the way of his opponent.
We came across Phil Collins sitting on a solid stack of about 10,500 here in the Brasilia room. Collins most recent notable finish occurred a few months back when he won the Heartland Poker Tour Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada for a score of $71,556.
While that was his latest score, Collins is probably best known from his impressive finish in the 2011 WSOP Main Event. Collins finished fifth place and took home a whopping prize of $2,269,599 for his efforts.
Collins has nine WSOP cashes under his belt but none so far this year. With a nice stack in his possession, however, Collins will be looking to run deep in this event.
We found action folded to Matt Matros who raised to 250 from the hijack. The player in the cutoff called and the rest of the players folded.
The flop came down and Matros continued out with a bet of 350. His opponent shook his head and placed his cards into the muck. Matros grabbed the pot. He's currently sitting on a stack of 5,700.
