A Host of Stacks Rise Up From The Silver Section

With 670 players left and an average stack of 9,600 let's give you some news from the Silver Section.

The Brazilian Joao Simao and the American pairing of Will Jaffe and Jason Helder are both making good progress with 67,000 and 55,000 respectively. Also Justin Schwartz has just taken a big pot from Steven Van Zadelhoff to move up to 57,000.

Muhamet Perati is a player who is getting lost in the midst of his growing stack of ante chips. Here he is moving up to 65,000 with the mighty {7-Spades} {5-Hearts} proving that when you run hot…you run hot.

The cutoff raised to 725 and Perati called in the big blind. The action checked through to the turn on a board of {10-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {7-Hearts} before Perati bet 1,125 and his opponent quickly called. The river card was the {5-Clubs} and Perati fired a second salvo worth 3,800. His opponent started to make strange shapes with his face, but he finally called. Perati flipped over the {7-Spades} {5-Hearts} and his opponent mucked.

The English duo of Chris Moorman and John Eames are sitting on side to side tables. Moorman currently has 22,200 chips and Eames has 13,000 after losing a few in the following hand.

A player in early position raised to 900, Eames three-bet to 2,100 in the cutoff and an older gentlemen flew into the pot with an all-in shove from the blinds. The original raiser folded and the decision was back on Eames.

"Could you have thought about it just for a little bit," Eames said before reluctantly folding his hand.

Players who seem to have waved bye-bye to this event include Andreas Hoivold, Ray Henson, David Peters, Isaac Haxton, Leo Margets, Leonid Bilokur, Nacho Barbero and Luca Moschitta.

Alessio Isaia Eliminated By William Spohn

We reported earlier how Alessio Isaia had flopped a straight only to be outdrawn by the full house of Chris Arvanitis. He then quadrupled up before being eliminated by Williams Spohn. We don't know the exact details but Isaia was all-in holding pocket treys and Spohn held {K-} {10-}. The flop ran out with a Broadway straight and the man with $2 million in live tournament earnings is out.

Weissman and Boyd Winning

We don't know exactly what happened, but with a {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} board exposed Joey Weissman was being pushed a double up. Weissman had {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the flopped straight. We don't know what his opponent had, but we know it couldn't beat Weissman.

A table over sits Dutch Boyd who happened to be playing a hand as well. The flop read {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn brought a bet of 1,200 from Boyd. The later position player moved all in and Boyd snap called.

Boyd: {3-}{3-}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Boyd has his opponent drawing dead and was going to take down yet another pot.

Golden Section: Craig On Top; Isaia Faltering

Michael Craig has 6 World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes to his name, including a 2nd place finish in the 2009 $2,500 Seven Card Stud event for $116,405. Craig is currently the man with the largest stack in the Golden Section and is residing at Table 14.

Not far behind Craig is the Canadian Chris Arvanitis who just moved up to 45,000 after crushing the spirit of the Italian Alessio Isaia. We joined the action with three players each with 4,250 splayed in front of them. There was a young lady all-in in the cutoff, Isaia in mid-position and Arvanitis in the hijack seat. The dealer gave the three of them the glitzy looking flop of {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. Isaia was first to act and he bet 4,250 and Arvanitis immediately announced all-in. Isaia didn't look very happy but he made the call and was ahead when the cards were turned over.

Arvanitis{K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Isaia{10-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Cut Off{8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}

So Isaia was ahead and as no-one had the flush outs he was just trying to fade a king, queen or a strange set of runner-runner combinations.

Turn: {K-Hearts}

Arvanitis filled up and the River {Q-Hearts} concluded the action. Isaia was forced to hand over 15,300 chips leaving him with just 800 chips.

Isaia then folded the next hand before moving all-in for 750. He was called in 2 spots until the big blind moved all-in to isolate the Italian and it worked.

Isaia{A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Big Blind{8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

Board: {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

Alessio Isaia quadruples up to 3400

Shorr Doubles

The flop read {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Shannon Shorr moved all in for his last 2,000 in chips. The short stacked Shorr received a call from a player in later position and cards were tabled.

Shorr: {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The turn fell the {8-Hearts} and the river came the {4-Spades} and with that Shorr was awarded a double up.

Along with that, here are some updated counts from around the room.

Nitsche Comes Up Short

We don't know exactly how the action went, but Dominik Nitsche has just doubled up a short stacked opponent after his {10-}{10-} couldn't compete with his opponent's {Q-}{Q-} after a {2-}{k-}{7-}{Q-}{5-} board was exposed.
