Tame Match Up

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

If you are wondering where all of the hands are, then we are sorry but there just aren't any to report. Both players seem quite happy to just bide their time in a series of raise/fold scenarios.

Campelo Takes One

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Luis Campelo raised it to 200,000 from the button and Will Jaffe called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} prompting a check from each player.

The {5-Hearts} on the turn saw a bet of 175,000 from Jaffe and a call from Campelo. The dealer then landed the {5-Spades} on the river bringing another bet from Jaffe, this time for 300,000. Campelo made the call and showed {3-}{3-} for two pair threes and fives, and that was good enough to take the pot.

Two For Campelo

Will Jaffe raised to 200,000 on the button and Luis Campelo three-bet to 450,000 to force Jaffe to fold.

Then Luis Campelo raised to 200,000 on the button and Jaffe called in the big blind. The flop was {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Spades} and Jaffe check-called a 175,000 Jaffe bet. That was the end of the action as the {10-Diamonds} and {8-Diamonds} was checked through and Campelo won the hand with {10-} {x-}.

A Mexican Wave and a Flop, Turn and River

So far we have had some raises, some folds and a Mexican wave, started by the Brazilians and ending with the Americans, who simply don't want to get involved.

Here is a flop, turn and river for you.

We didn't see nor could we hear the action (the Brazilian Samba songs are deafening in full voice) but we found our way to the flop of {2-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and Campelo check-called a 100,000 Jaffe bet. That endeth the action as the {K-Diamonds} and {J-Hearts} were checked though and Campelo won the pot with the old {7-Hearts} {2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces.

Joseph Kuether Eliminated in 3rd Place ($218,983)

Joseph Kuether - 3rd
Joseph Kuether - 3rd

Joseph Kuether has just been eliminated at the hands of Will Jaffe. Kuether raised on the button and Jaffe called in the big blind. The jam-packed rail were desperate for a flop to create some fireworks and the dealer delivered.

Flop: {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {6-Spades}

Jaffe checked, Kuether bet 180,000, Jaffe check-raised to 390,000, Kuether moved all-in and Jaffe called.

Jaffe{10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}
Kuether{A-Hearts} {7-Clubs}

Jaffe was in the lead with top pair. The crown gathered around the tv screen in anticipation of the turn.

Turn: {6-Clubs}

Jaffe hit a full-house

River: {2-Spades}

Jaffe had eliminated Kuether but it was all Brazilian noise as the South Americans started to cheer because their man Luis Campelo was now heads-up against Will Jaffe.

Campelo Gets There

Luis Campelo raised from the button and Joseph Kuether called and came along for the ride. The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Kuether bet out 230,000. Campelo countered by raising to around 500,000. Luether's response was to move all in a bet that would put Campelo all in.

Campelo took his time, but in the end he made the call.

Campelo: {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kuether: {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Kuether held a strong lead with top two pair, but a {5-Hearts} on the turn gave Campelo a flush draw to go with his straight draw. The {8-Spades} on the river finished it out and Campelo hit his straight, allowing him to double up.

We Are Still Waiting For That Spark

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

It remains very tense out there.

Joe Kuether raised from the small blind and then folded to a three-bet from Luis Campelo in the big blind. Then Will Jaffe raised on the button before folding to a Kuether three-bet from the small blind.
