It hasn't been a great level for Seong Bag. The 420,000 stack that he started the level with has been cut in half, the latest hit coming in a hand moments ago. Action folded to Bag on the button, and he raised it to 17,000. The small blind moved all in for 39,000 on top, and it was back to Bag. He said "well it's less then 50,000 so I have to call", and tossed in the chips.
Bag:
Opponent:
Bag was happy to see that he was live, but the flop wasn't kind for him, coming . This left Bag drawing to a queen, but the on the turn left him drawing dead. The meaningless river was the , and Bag shipped the double up over, dropping him to 200,000.
We missed the hand as it occurred, however, we are being told that Van Manlambus and Eliyahu Levy were in a heads-up pot. All the money got in on a flop. Levy held pocket kings with the for the nut flush draw and Manlambus held a for the second-nut flush draw. Another diamond fell and Levy scooped the enormous pot - eliminating Manlambus in the process.
Levy is far and away our chip leader with 700,000.
As we were typing up other hands, we heard the standard dealer cry of "payout", and we saw Marco Traniello get up out of his seat, and walk over to the payout desk. He has been eliminated.
We reported just a few minutes ago that Glafiro Valle was crippled to just 11,000. Well he was able to snag one double up, but that was as much as he would get.
When we got to the table, Valle was all in in the small blind against the player in the big blind, and our chip leader Alexander Queen. Queen and the big blind checked the that came on the flop, but when the hit the turn, the big blind bet 16,000. Queen folded, and the cards were tabled.
Valle:
Opponent:
Valle would need to catch a two and a two only to win the pot, but he wouldn't get it, as the hit the river, sending Valle to the rail.
We caught up with the action after Will Failla had already opened from early position. Action folded around to Seong Bag, who three-bet to 44,000. It was folded back to Failla, who pushed all in for about 380,000 total. That's when the banter began.
"I'll take your 44 [thousand], I don't want to you bust you - don't do something stupid," Failla said.
"I think we have the same hand," Bag replied.
"That's impossible. I'll lay you ten-to-one, my one thousand to your one hundred that we don't have the same hand."
"I think you have pocket queens," Bag said.
"I wouldn't risk my tournament on pocket queens."
After a bit more banter, both agreed that they would show if Bag folded, which he did. The ten-to-one bet was never finalized.
Bag tabled and Failla flipped over after the hand was already over.
"See?" Failla said.
Failla is up to 425,000 following the hand, while Bag slipped a bit to 420,000.
We heard the cry of "all in and a call" as we arrived to Glafiro Valle's table, and we saw that Valle himself was involved in the big hand. Valle held , but his opponent, Mick Graydon, had . The pot was worth over 400,000, so this was a pivotal moment in the tournament for both players.
The flop was safe for Graydon, coming . The turn kept him out in front, coming the , and a disappointed Valle didn't even bother looking at the river, which was the . Valle was left with just 11,000 after the hand, while Graydon is now one of our chip leaders.
