Pillai's Four-Bet Takes One Down

Shankar Pillai opened for 7,000 from early position and action folded around to the player on the button, who three-bet to 20,000. It was folded back to Pillai, who thought it over and then cut out a four-bet to 37,000. His opponent gave it up after some thought and Pillai scooped the pot.

Pillai is back up to 190,000.

Monraton Wins Battle Of Big Stacks

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We saw that our new chip leader Rudy Blondeau had been moved, and when we found him, we saw that he was opposite another huge stack, [Removed:85]. Well it didn't take too long for these players to get involved in a huge hand.

We caught the action with about 23,000 in the middle, and a board reading {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. There were three players in the pot: the big blind, Blondeau, who was under the gun, and Monraton, who was in the cutoff. It was checked to Blondeau, who fired out 10,500. Monraton counted out a raise to 24,000, and toss it into the middle. Both the big blind and Blondeau came along, and the pot swelled up to over 100,000.

The turn changed nothing, bringing the {4-Hearts}, and it was checked to Monraton He kept his foot on the gas, firing out a big bet of 46,000. The big blind shook his head while folding, and after about 30 seconds of tanking, Blondeau released his hand too. After that pot, Monraton catapults to our chip lead, with 460,000.

Negreanu Eliminated

It was folded around to Daniel Negreanu in the small blind, who went all in for his last 30,000. His opponent in the big blind peeked at his cards and announced he was also all in for more, which meant Negreanu would be at risk.

"I have two kings," Negreanu said. He then quickly tabled {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and chuckled. His opponent flipped over {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} board was no help to Negreanu and he immediately left the room in order to play Event 57: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed, which he already signed up for earlier in the day.

Negreanu Sliding

Action folded around to Daniel Negreanu, who completed from the small blind. His opponent in the big blind checked her option and it was heads up.

Both players checked the {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, however, Negreanu fired 4,200 into the middle when the {A-Diamonds} fell on the turn. His opponent cut out a call and pushed it into the middle.

The {5-Diamonds} completed the board and Negreanu checked, prompting a 7,000 bet from his opponent. Negreanu took one last peek at his cards and flung them into the muck.

Negreanu is down to 60,000 after that one.
