Hand #178: Jake Balsiger

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Jesse Sylvia had the button, and he folded. Jake Balsiger called from the small blind, and Greg Merson checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Balsiger checked. Merson checked behind to see the {K-Diamonds} land on the turn. Balsiger bet 1.35 million, and Merson folded.

Hand #182: Cold Four-Bet from Sylvia

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Jake Balsiger had the button. He raised to 1.6 million to kick off the action. Greg Merson reraised to 5.2 million, reraising for the second hand in a row. Jesse Sylvia paused in the big blind to study, then put in a four-bet to 10.6 million. This was the first cold four-bet seen during three-handed play tonight.

Balsiger folded his hand from the button, then Merson also gave it up, and Sylvia's group of supporters erupted in cheers. One of them even had a trumpet he was playing as the others pounded their feet on the floor and slapped their hands together.

Hand #183: Jake Balsiger

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Greg Merson had the button, and opened to 1.6 million. Jake Balsiger defended his big blind, and the flop came {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Balsiger checked, Merson tossed out two million, and Balsiger called.

The turn was a third club - the {4-Clubs} - and Balsiger checked again. Merson checked behind, and the river brought the {q-Diamonds}. Balsiger led out for 2.8 million, and Merson released his hand.
