Meinders' Stack Takes a Hit

We caught up just as players were getting all in, however, Brian Meinders had raised another player all-in on a {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} board. Meinders' opponent called off his remaining stack, which was approximately 100,000.

Meinders: {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

Meinders was well behind and the {6-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river kept Meinders second best as he doubled up his opponent.

Meinders is down to 300,000.

Lee Rebuilding

A player opened to 9,000 in middle position, a player in the hijack seat called, and Bernard Lee defended his big blind. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and all three players checked.

The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and the action checked to the player in the hijack seat, who tossed out 13,500. Only Lee called.

The {j-Hearts} completed the board, and Lee led for 17,500. His opponent folded, and Lee is back over 100,000 chips.

Guetti Folds To Ferrell

We caught the end of a ginormous pot between Michael Ferrell and Anthony Guetti that saw Ferrell collect a mountain of chips. The board read {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Guetti had bet out 60,500. Action was on Ferrell, and he tanked for a couple minutes before moving all in. Both players had giant stacks, to this was a huge bet. Guetti let out a big sigh, then folded his cards towards the dealer.

That hand drops Guetti to 230,000, while Ferrell shoots up to 782,000.

Woodward Trending Upward

Sorel Mizzi raised to 9,000 from the button. Both blinds called, including Matt Woodward in the small blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}. It checked to Mizzi who pushed 13,500 out onto the felt, and only Woodward called. Both remaining players then checked the {9-Clubs} turn. The river brought the {K-Hearts}. Woodward bet 30,000, and Mizzi folded.

Selbst Makes Correct Call

Vanessa Selbst raised to 8,000 from early position and it folded around to the blinds who both opted to call.

The flop brought {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and all three players checked. The trio did the same on the {6-Spades} of fourth street, and the {2-Hearts} dropped down to finish the board.

The small blind bet 11,500 and was quickly called by the big blind. Selbst tanked for over a minute before flat calling as well. The small blind showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for ace-high and the blind blind flipped up {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of tens.

Selbst, however, tabled the winning hand with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens with a jack kicker. In raking that pot, Selbst's stack is now sitting at 535,000.

Eslami Appeases Opponent

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ali Eslami was on the button and the player in the cutoff opened for 9,500. Eslami re-raised to 21,500 and his opponent went silent.

As the player in the cutoff was thinking a floor supervisor informed to other players to bag up their chips in preparation for a move to the Amazon Room.

The player in the cutoff folded and asked Eslami if he would show. "Come on, we're moving anyways," the opponent prodded.

Eslami thought for a moment, turned up {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} and started to bag his chips.

Croak Croaks

A short while ago a player here in the Purple section won a big hand and responded with one of those action-stopping shouts that sometimes will occur. "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" he cried, and a brief silence followed.

Robert Croak, the Silly Bandz creator and High Stakes Poker participant, decided to fill the silence with a question.

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?"

Everyone laughed at Croak's shouted question. Alas for the businessman, we're now talking about his elimination from the 2012 WSOP Main Event, his last chips having been taken recently by Antonio Esfandiari. At least Croak left us smiling.
