Headed Up-Hille

Action folded to Andras Koroknai in the cutoff and he raised to 250,000, which Elisabeth Hille called from the small blind. The {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop saw Hille check, Koroknai bet 310,000, Hille check-raise to 785,000 and Koroknai made the call.

When the dealer burned and turned the {A-Spades}, Hille led out for 825,000, Koroknai called, and the {K-Hearts} peeled off on the river. Hille pushed out a bet of 2 million, which she could barely get out before Koroknai snap-folded.

Bronshtein Bumping Up

Yuval Bronshtein
Yuval Bronshtein

Yuval Bronshtein was quite active as Level 29 came to a close, having picked up several good hands and pushed with them each time.

Just now Jeremy Ausmus raised to 210,000 from the hijack seat, and Jacob Balsiger called from a seat over. Cylus Watson then pushed it up to 600,000 from the button. Yuval Bronshtein was next to act in the small blind, and after checking his cards he declared he was all in. All quickly folded back to Watson, and after a count it was determined Bronshtein was pushing for about 6 million total.

"I'm not bluffing," said Bronshtein with a grin as Watson considered the situation. Finally he folded, showing Bronshtein his {A-}{K-} (unsuited) rapidly as he did. Bronshtein turned over {A-Spades}{K-Spades}, and the pair continued to discuss the hand afterwards.

Bronshtein pointed out how it was "the best squeeze situation possible," while Watson smiled and shook his head, saying "I'm such a nit." "It's such a good fold, though," said Bronshtein, and they continued the discussion into the next hand.

Twenty-Seven

The tournament staff has decided to play down to twenty-seven players, so rather than stop now, we will continue until there is one more elimination.

Gee Dodges a Heart to Double Through Strelitz

Steven Gee raised to 200,000 on the button and Daniel Strelitz defended from the big blind. The {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop saw Gee call a bet of 325,000, before he called off for 1.965 million on the {2-Hearts} turn.

Showdown

Gee{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Strelitz{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Gee was ahead with aces, but he needed to dodge a heart on the river to survive. That's exactly what he did as the harmless {6-Spades} peeled off.

Bronshtein Grabs a Few

Yuval Bronshtein raised to 230,000 from under the gun and got a call from Jeremy Ausmus on the button. The flop came {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and another check from Bronshtein. Ausmus bet 325,000 and Bronshtein called.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}. Bronshtein checked again, and when Ausmus bet 625,000 Bronshtein was there with the call. Ausmus showed {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, but Bronshtein had him with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.
