Potter Chips Up; Lubarsky Takes a Hit

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante
Hal Lubarsky
Hal Lubarsky

A player raised in middle position, and Jason Potter defended his big blind. Both players checked on the flop ({9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}) and the turn ({a-Diamonds}), and the {k-Spades} completed the board. Potter led out, and that was good enough to win him the pot.

A few tables over, Hal Lubarsky three-bet an early position raiser. A player near the button cold-called, the original raiser called as well, and the flop fell {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The original raiser checked, Lubarsky bet, and the player near the button called. The original raiser check-raised, and both players call.

Lubarsky folded to a bet when the {6-Diamonds} turned though, leaving himself with just 1,800 chips.

Chidwick Eliminated

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

When we reached Table 371, Stephen Chidwick called a final bet on a board of {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}, and showed {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for trip sixes. His opponent showed {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a turned straight though, leaving the Brit with just 1,000 chips.

He was eliminated shortly thereafter.

Hellmuth Folds the Winner

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

A player limped in from early position, a second player raised in the cutoff, and Phil Hellmuth cold-called in the big blind. The limper called as well.

The action folded to the raiser on a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and he bet. Hellmuth called, the limper-check-raised, and both the raiser and Hellmuth called.

The {10-Diamonds} on the turn paired the board, and Hellmuth checked again. The limper fired out a bet, and this time only the raiser called. Both players checked when the {q-Clubs} completed the board.

The limper showed two jacks, which earned him the pot, and Hellmuth winced at the sight of the players hand.

"I had ace-queen!" he yelped.

Despite losing the pot, the Poker Brat is still trending upwards, and sits with 11,000 chips.

Ivey Busts One

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

Phil Ivey raised in middle position, and a very short-stacked player called all in near the button.

Ivey: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The flop fell {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, giving Ivey a set of sevens, but the {8-Hearts} turned, leaving the player with four outs to make a straight. The {k-Hearts} bricked on the river, however, and the player was eliminated.

Ivey now sits with 10,000 chips.

Witteles Busts Three

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

You read that correctly.

Just before the break, a sick hand went down on Table 364. When all of the action was completed, and the hands were opened, the table looked like this:

Todd Witteles: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Earl Barron: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent 1: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Opponent 2: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Board: {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Witteles scooped the whole pot, eliminating three players and increasing his stack to 24,000 chips (he's since fallen to 21,000). He tweeted the following photo.

Buchman Kisses Chips Goodbye

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

Terrence Chan raised in early position, Eric Buchman defended, and the flop came {10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Buchman check-raised Chan, who called, and the turn brought the {k-Hearts}.

Buchman checked again, Chan instantly bet, and Buchman tank-called.

The river was repeat ten - the {10-Diamonds} - and Buchman checked a third time. Chan tossed out a bet, then Buchman grabbed enough to chips to call, kissed them, then flicked them forward. Chan showed {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for kings and tens, winning the pot.
