Event #12: $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em started today with 535 players and after 10 levels of play, we have two players over the 100K mark: Robert Corcione (144,600) and Mike Carson (110,000). Both players have some history at the WSOP. Robert Corcione finished in 21st place in last year's Main Event for $294,601and Mike Carson won a bracelet in 2000 in a $3000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event for $222,000.

Play began at noon where we saw the likes of Eric Baldwin, straight off his Runner-up Finish in Event #4, Gavin Smith, Antonio Esfandiari, Annette Obrestad, Hoyt Corkins, Victor Ramdin and Kathy Liebert to name just a few. Unfortunately, none of these players survived to play day 2 but we have plenty of recognizable names still in the field including: Jason Mercier, Allen Cunningham, Martin Stazko, Adam Geyer, Melanie Weisner and the defending champion of this event, Nick Jivkov.

We are ending the day with 62 players but only 54 of them will make the money. Play resumes at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Purple Section of the Amazon Room. Follow all the action right here as we approach the bubble and players continue to battle for the first-place prize of $166,136 and a WSOP Bracelet.

Done After 10 Levels

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

A new rule change this year means that a tournament must be within three players of the money in order to continue for the night until the bubble burst rather than one table away. With 63 players remaining, that means Day 1 will in fact be done at the end of 10 levels.

Play Is Tightening

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

We are about 10 off the bubble and 15-minutes from day 2 and as a result play is tightening up. Here is a perfect example:

Martin Staszko raised from middle position to 2,300. Both the small and big blinds called and we saw a {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. The players checked around and Eric Fields led for 5,100 on the {q-Clubs} turn. The big blind and Stazko both looked like they were thinking about it but in the end folded. And so it goes.

Harig Out Notches Opponent

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

In a barrage of bets and calls Wilfred Harig raised the table 15,000 and the rest folded except for a player who was all in. When Harig {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and his opponent {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flipped up their cards, Harig's opponent was pleading for a five. But a five did not come and the board went blank with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Harig got the knock out and now has 23000

Suied Looking To Get His Table Drinking

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

"We drinking?" asked Danny "Miami Boss" Suied to his table. "Another five minutes?" he continued, citing that the day was coming to a close.

The table got a chuckle, and Suied continued. "They say in the Harrah's commercials that they don't want you drinking while you gamble. That's some bullsh*t!"

"They don't say that," responded someone at the table.

"Yeah they do," snapped back Suied.

"No. They don't want you drunk," said the dealer to Suied.

"Who drinks and doesn't get drunk?" questioned Suied. "That's just dumb. You gotta drink to get wasted!"
