A player who identified himself only as "B. Russ" just dragged a massive pot by flopping a full house, but he was left to lament the chips he could have claimed. With the board reading 
, one player was all-in before "B. Russ" and he shoved as well. The action was now on an unknown opponent who tanked long and hard before releasing his hand.

Weisner Busts Two

Preflop from under the gun +1, Melanie Weisner raised to 400. A player one to her left made a reraise to 1,200. One player called that raise before the player in the big blind moved all in for 2,575. Weisner took her time to think and count out a call, which she eventually made. The reraiser in seat 1 moved all in for roughly 10,000 chips. The other player to call the raise, folded and it was back on Weisner who snap called with a covering stack.

Taylor-made

Attempting to win his first WSOP bracelet after scoring a Circuit ring earlier in the summer, Michael "Life" Taylor moved a bit closer to that goal by taking down a recent pot.
Taylor raised from early position, making it 450 to go before the flop, and he was called in two spots. After a flop of 
, a c-bet from the man known as "Life" to Circuit regulars was enough to earn the pot.
As an aspiring rapper and producer who is widely loved in the Phoenix rap game, a former record label owner, and the boyfriend of Cassandra McCarville, Taylor has many accomplishments to his credit, but he is still chasing the one piece of jewelry that every poker player covets above all else. Today's Day 1 represents the latest opportunity to achieve that dream, and with more pots like this one, Taylor hopes to keep grinding towards the biggest score of his life.

Nitsche Doubles Back

Lindgren Looming Large

Erick "E-Dog" Lindgren has experienced ups and downs during his poker career, but with his recent runner-up finish in the World Poker Tour World Championship at the Bellagio, he may be in the middle of an upswing.
This is certainly true today, as Lindgren has quietly pushed his stack past the 28,000 mark to put him in contention early on.
We recently watched Lindgren respond to a bet by a player on the button with pure power poker, as he hoisted a tall stack of T100 tournament chips into the middle. The aggressive play worked as planned, and his opponent relented in the face of the pro's pressure play.

Kelly At It Again

We got to the board on the river and Dan Kelly was scooping in a huge double up courtesy of Barry Shulman. Kelly was holding 
on a 
board for the nut flush. Shulman's cards were already in the muck, but this prompted a debate between Ryan Fair and another player at the table over whether it was ethical or not to request that Shulman's hand be shown.
Either way Kelly is up big and is surely one of the chip leaders in the room.
