Raskin and Eslami Lock Up Seats Among Final 32

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Three matches have come to a close which means three more players have secured seats among the final 32.

The first player of this group to advance is Micah Raskin, who was able to overcome Rob Tepper during heads up play.

Simultaneously on the other end of the room, Ali Eslami won his match against Robert McVeigh. The two got all of the chips in before the flop with Eslami holding a dominated {K-}{8-} to McVeigh's {K-}{9-}. Eslami, however, was able to take the lead with a rivered straight on the {5-}{6-}{9-}{2-}{7-} board.

Jason Mercier Finds Victory
Jason Mercier Finds Victory

Jason Mercier has advanced to the final 32 players.

With about 67,000 behind, Mercier made it 12,000 from the button and Nestor Martinez called. The flop came {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-} and Martinez shipped all in. Mercier called with {Q-}{2-Clubs} and was ahead of Martinez's {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Martinez failed to improve and Mercier was able to double up.

On the next hand, Mercier and Martinez got it all in once again but this time it was for Martinez's tournament life. Mercier held {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and was up against Martinez's {Q-}{10-}.

The board ran out {J-}{10-}{8-}{5-}{K-} and Mercier was able to clinch the victory.

Peters Finds a Double

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

After a series of raises, Ben Sulsky and David Peters were all in before the flop for Peters' tournament life. Sulsky held {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and was flipping with Peters' {A-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Sulsky's treys retained the lead. The {9-Diamonds} hit the turn and Peters was in dire need to help to stay alive. He found exactly that as the {J-Hearts} completed the board and gave him the best hand with jacks and eights.
