Hui Takes One From Tamer

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We came to the action with Tamer Kamel facing a 13,000 bet from Phillip Hui on a {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. Kamel made the call and then check called a 31,000 bet on the {2-Clubs} turn. Kamel checked the {7-Diamonds} river and Hui announced "all in".

Kamel went into the tank for a solid 3 minutes when Hui called the clock. Kamel showed his displeasure by mumbling "not cool". The clock counted down and Kamel's hand was declared dead and the pot was shipped Hui's way.

Varano and Halvorson Out

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Two players were eliminated in the span of two hands.

Paul Varano lost when his {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} was beaten by Robert Deppe's {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} after all the chips went in pre-flop. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to eliminate Varano.

Nick Halvorson was eliminated when his {10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} could not catch up to Kyle Cartwright's {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. He was also all in preflop. The two players took 20th and 21st, respectively, and will each take home $10,046.

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Shannon Shorr raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and Alex Barlow made it 40,000 from the button. The blinds folded, Shorr moved all in and Barlow made the call.

Shorr: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Barlow: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and a set of eights are good to eliminate Shorr in 23rd place.

Dibiasi Doubles

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Joseph Dibiasi has had a rollercoaster of a day here on Day 2 of Event #18 and now finds himself armed with 305,000 chips,

Dominik Nitsche opened to 18,000 in the small blind and Dibiasi went to call but inadvertently made an illegal raise to 23,000. The floor ruled Dibiasi had to raise to at least 28,000 and Nitsche could act as he saw fit. No sooner had Dibiasi put the extra 5,000 chips into the middle, Nitsche moved all in for 147,000 chips effective. Dibiasi pondered all of his options before making the call.

Dibiasi: {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Nitsche: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}

Probably not the hands you would expect to see following such betting action, but there you go! Nitsche flopped an open-ended straight draw on the {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, but it didn't come in as the turn and river were the {10-Diamonds} and {9-Spades} to double Dibiasi.

Sanders Adds to His Stack

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Adam Sanders opened to 17,000 from UTG+1 and found two callers in the shape of Taylor Paur and Dominik Nitsche, Nitsche being the player in the big blind. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and the action checked to Paur, who led for 24,000. Nitsche folded but Sanders called.

The {4-Diamonds} turn was checked by both players. The {10-Clubs} turn saw Sanders fire a bet of 45,000 and an unimpressed-looking Paur release his hand.

Whitaker Whacked by Nitsche

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Andrew Whitaker is no longer in this tournament after losing a coinflip for his tournament life.

Whitaker chose the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} to commit his stack with but he ran into some resistance when Dominik Nitsche called with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Whitaker paired his king on the flop, but Nitshce flopped a set to leave Whitaker drawing almost dead. The {7-Diamonds} turn locked up the hand for Nitsche, rendering the {K-Clubs} river inconsequential.

Trebo Terminated

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Giovanni Trebo has been eliminated at the hands of Taylor Paur.

It was Dominik Nitsche who opened the preflop betting round with a raise to 16,000 from under the gun. Taylor Paur called in the hijack and Trebo called from the big blind meaning it was three-handed to the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop.

Trebo wasted little time in moving all in for 60,500, prompting a set of raised eyebrows from Nitsche. Nitsche folded, but Paur called to put Trebo at risk of elimination.

Trebo: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Paur: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

Paur was ahead but needed to avoid a club or an ace for things to stay that way. The {7-Clubs} turn improved Trebo to the nut flush, but the {4-Spades} gifted the winning hand to Paur as it made him a full house.
