Punched in the Mouth

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, who won his fourth bracelet a few days ago, raised to 2,400 from the hijack and received calls from Christopher Meyer and James Bord in the small and big blinds respectively.

When the flop came down {4-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Meyer led out for 1,200, Bord folded and Matusow made it 2,400 to go. Meyer called and then turned right around and bet when the {5-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Matusow called and then did the same on the {4-Hearts} river.

"I flopped the wheel," Meyer said before tabling the {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Matusow indicated that it was good, and then showed as much when he flashed the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Good Start for Harman

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

We only caught the tail end of the action, but here's what we saw in a heads up pot that involved Jennifer Harman. The board read {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, and we saw that Harman had just finished calling a bet from her opponent. The river brought the {j-Clubs}, and both players checked. Her opponent announced "aces and nines", and Harman rolled over her hand, {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, good enough for a slightly better two pair.

After stacking up the chips from that pot, we pegged Harman's stack at 35,000, which is nearly double what she started the day with.

Greenstein Bets the River

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein, Sam Grizzle, and one other player were three handed on a flop that read {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Grizzle started the betting, and though the middle player folded, Greenstein called from the button. The turn brought the {6-Clubs}, and Grizzled fired again, with Greenstein once again calling. The river was the {10-Hearts}, and Grizzle decided to slow down and check. Greenstein saw this as a green light to bet, and Grizzle tanked for about 30 seconds before letting out a small chuckle, and folding, telling Greenstein "Nice hand Barry."

"Second Time I've Flopped Quads"

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

With around 6,500 in the pot and a board of {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Richard Ashby bet from the big blind and Joe Ford, who hails from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, put in a raise. Ashby, who is donning a pair of surgical gloves (we think it's a germ thing), thought long and hard before finally folding his hand.

"Second time I've flop quads [today]," Ford said before revealing the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Cernuto Survives....Barely

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

"Miami" John Cernuto came into today with a measly stack of 4,000, and we knew he would have to get it in quickly. Down to his final 3,000, Cernuto got it in the middle against Todd Brunson preflop.

Cernuto: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}
Brunson:{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The two players were likely to chop the high, unless Cernuto paired his three or Brunson his two. The board ran down {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, giving three quarters of the pot to Brunson, who's low was slightly better. This leaves Cernuto with just 1,100 in chips, while Brunson is doing fine with 21,000.

Nice Pot for Racener

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

With around 10,000 in the pot and a board reading {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}, John Racener checked from the small blind and Christopher McHugh bet from the hijack. Shawn Stuart then raised from the button and Racener woke up with a three-bet check-raise. McHugh got out of the way and Stuart made the call.

When the {8-Diamonds} appeared on the river, Racener led out with a bet and Stuart made the call. Racener tabled the {k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for trip kings with an ace kicker, and it was good as Stuart sent his hand to the muck.
