Pham Doubles Through Dean

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up with the action on a completed board of {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}, we found David Pham cut out a bet of 115,000 into Andrew Dean. Dean looked up Pham's stack and announced that he was all in over the top.

Pham called and showed {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a straight. Dean tabled {9-Spades}{3-Spades} for merely a pair of threes and then flung his cards at the muck. Pham was able to double up to about 875,000 while Dean has fallen to around 975,000.

Pham Calls With Ace-High

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

David Pham raised to 34,000 from under the gun and it folded to Nikolai Sears who called out of the big blind. Both players checked the {6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and the {9-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Sears fired 33,000 and Pham called.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and Sears cut out a bet of 138,000. Pham went into the tank for about a minute before calling.

"Good call," remarked Sears.

Pham showed {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for merely ace-high and Sears mucked his hand. Pham dragged in the pot and is now sitting on about 1.17 million in chips.

Nick Schulman Eliminated in 8th Place ($44,855)

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

From the button Nick Schulman moved all in for roughly 200,000 chips. Berkey folded in the small blind but Martin Finger took one look at his cards and snap called.

Schulman: {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Finger: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Schulman was in trouble and he needed help to stay alive but he didn't find it on the {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{K-Spades} board, nor did he find it on the {Q-Hearts} turn, nor on the {6-Hearts} river. Schulman wished his opponents luck and took his leave from the tournament.

After Schulman's elimination, the players are redrawing for seats and moving to the main stage in the Amazon room.

Stout Wins The First Battle

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Before the flop Andrew Dean raised to 32,000. In position, Matt Stout reraised to 92,000. Action folded back around to Dean who raised to 213,000 total. Stout just called.

The dealer rolled out the flop of {4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Dean checked. Stout wasn't giving away any free cards though, he fired a bet of 150,000 and that was enough to force Dean into a fold.

Pham Fires River

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

David Pham opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Andrew Dean was his only caller from two seats over. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Pham checked. Dean bet 34,000 and Pham cut out a call.

Fourth street was the {10-Diamonds} and Pham checked for a second time. Dean moved 40,000 forward and Pham called again. After the {J-Diamonds} hit the river, Pham tossed out 84,000. Dean tanked for about forty-five seconds before finally deciding to release his hand.
