Some Chip Counts From Around the Room

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Kihara Makes the Right Call

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante
Naoya Kihara
Naoya Kihara

Naoya Kihara keep raking in chips. In a recent hand, he was tangling with Ryan Hughes.

From the cutoff, Kihara raised to 450. He was called by Hughes on the button.

The flop fell {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Kihara bet out 525. Hughes called.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and Kihara used this opportunity to check. Hughes bet 1,1000, which Kihara called.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Kihara checked again. This time Hughes bet 3,200.

"Hmmmm," Kihara said, thinking through the hand and rubbing his chin. Eventually he threw in the chips for a call, and it ended up being the right one when Hughes showed {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Kihara had the best hand with {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Hunichen Gets It Done Preflop

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

From the button Chris Hunichen raised to 500 before the flop. Action folded to the player in the big blind who reraised to 1350.

With action back on Hunichen he four bet to 2,600. Back to the big blind he made another reraise to 5,600.

Hunichen asked for a count, the bet size, and then decided to end all questions there by moving all in. His opponent quickly mucked his cards.

After that pot Hunichen moved back over 20,000 chips.

Flack Cruising

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

We came to the table on the turn with the board showing {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Faraz Jaka led out for 1,700, and Layne Flack raised to 4100. Jaka went into the tank, and after a couple minutes pushed his cards toward the dealer. Flack takes down the pot and is now up to 44,000, while Jaka now sits with 15,000.

Hellmuth In

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth is in the building. He's just recently sat down at his table after break and he's already started mixing it up with Andreas Hoivold.

From the cutoff, Hoivold raised to 425. Hellmuth was the only caller in the big blind. Both players checked all the way down on a {Q-}{J-}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} board. Hellmuth showed {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but Hoivold showed {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts} to take down the pot.

"I can't check raise you with nothing if you don't bet," Hellmuth said after the hand.

Darryll Fish Doubles

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Bryn Kenney raised to 450 from the button, and Darryll Fish called from the big blind. On a flop of {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Fish checked, Kenney continued for 400, and Fish called. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, Fish again checked, and Kenney again bet, this time for 1,125. Fish called, and the dealer brought the river, a {6-Clubs}. Fish checked a third time, and Kenney bet enough to put Fish all-in. Fish quickly called for his last 3,450. Kenney turned over {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}, but Fish was well ahead with {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for trip-eights.

Fish doubled up to 11,000, and Kenney was knocked down to 6,000.

Kihara Cruising

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Bracelet Winner Naoya Kihara is cruising right now. We didn't see how he picked up all his chips but he is being very agressive with them.

After getting reraised to 1,100 in a recent hand, Kihara pumped it up to 2,600. The player who reraised Kihara on the button moved all in and without thinking about it very long, Kihara mucked.

Even after giving up those chips, Kihara is one of the biggest stacks in the room and could soon surpass the 50,000 chip mark.

Baumann Takes a Hit

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Eric Crain raised to 450 under-the-gun, and Gaëlle Baumann three-bet to 1,150. Crain made the call, and then checked the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. Baumann bet 1,400, and Crain called. Baumann bet out again when the turn came the {4-Spades}, this time for 2,800, and Crain again called. Then he pushed all-in on the {q-Spades} river, and Baumann quickly folded. After the hand, Baumann was down to 13,500 in chips.

Mizrachi MIA

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

From the button, a player raised to 400. Mizrachi was in the big blind and he moved all in for his last 3,350.

"I just want to bust you," the player said before making the call.

Mizrachi: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Button: {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

There was the {Q-Diamonds} right in the window, so it was already bad for Mizrachi. The entire flop was {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. The turn was the {J-Diamonds} removing the possibility of backdoor outs for Mizrachi. The river was the {9-Diamonds} giving his opponent a flush and sending him to the rail.
