Hawkins Eliminates Shorr

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a board of {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} Maurice Hawkins had a bet of 1,200 in front of him. Shannon Shorr went into the tank for roughly two minutes before finally moving all in for 5,275.

Hawkins thought about it briefly before saying, "Alright, I'll pay you off," and making the call.

Hawkins showed his {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a straight. Shorr flashed his {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} before trying to throw his cards into the muck. The dealer informed him that he must turn up his cards as and all in player, but never actually exposed the cards. Hawkins told the dealer what cards he saw, and told him that he didn't need to see them.

Shorr could only stand up and made his exit from the tournament.

Plenty of Extras Being Given Away at This Year's WSOP

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Mizzi Busts One

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sorel Mizzi called a preflop players all in and that put Sam Trickett in the tank with a decision to make. Eventually he folded his {A-}{J-} face up.

The all in player was holding {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} against Mizzi's {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} giving Mizzi the elimination but making Sam Trickett look slightly frustrated. We heard Mizzi and Trickett talking after the hand about Trickett really wanting to bust the player.

Angelil Busts

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Rene Angelil
Rene Angelil

The button raised to 400 pre-flop, and Rene Angelil called from the small blind. Angelil led out for 725 when the flop came {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, and his opponent called. The turn was the {k-Spades}, and Angelil checked. His opponent bet 1,200, and Angelil check-raised all-in for 3,250. After thinking for a moment, his opponent called and turned over {j-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines. Angelil held {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and he would need help. The river, however, was the {3-Clubs}, no help to Angelil, who has been eliminated from the tournament.

Ramdin and Massey Battle

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Victor Ramdin opened the pot under the gun for 350. He was called by Aaron Massey in the small blind and the player in the big blind as well.

All three players checked on the {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Massey bet 300. The big blind folded. Ramdin reraised to 1,000 total. Massey called.

On the {Q-Diamonds} river, Massey checked as did Ramdin. Massey showed {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for a full house and Ramdin mucked. Massey shook his head and made a remark about not betting the river.

"That was the perfect card for me to fold on," Ramdin said to him after the hand.

"What a needle," someone else said at the table.

"He's a big boy," Ramdin said. "He can handle it."
