Welcome to our Day 3 coverage of Event #25: $5,000 Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-Better. The starting field of 241 players is down to just 27 hopefuls, each looking to capture the $277,519 first-place prize and a coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet.
Leading the way with 339,500 is Robert Mizrachi. No stranger to Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-Better, Mizrachi is looking for his first big WSOP score in this specific game to go along with his excellent H.O.R.S.E. and EIght-Game results. However, that's far from an easy task as the competition behind him is fierce. Second in chips is Francesco Barbaro (278,000) and he has an Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-Better bracelet to his name. Shawn Buchanan (263,500) is third in chips and the argument can be made that he is the best player out there yet to capture a bracelet. Ryan Lenaghan (180,500), Mike Matusow (95,000), and Bart Hanson (89,000) each final tabled this event last year and are back in the money looking to finish on top this time around. Throw in two-time Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-Better bracelet winner Viacheslav Zhukov (172,500) and the rest of this star-studded field and it's going to be a very exciting finish!
Play commences at 2pm local time and will carry on for ten levels (or eleven). A champion may arise by then, or we'll be back tomorrow. Regardless, keep it here for updates on all of the exciting action!
On the Friday edition of the PokerNews Podcast, the crew breaks down the latest news from the World Series of Poker, including David Diaz being banned from Caesars properties, Martin Finger winning his first gold bracelet, Matthew Ashton approaching another final table, and an update from the Ivey and the Misfits fantasy team. They then talk with Jay Rosenkrantz about the premiere of Bet Raise Fold: The Story of Online Poker.
George Danzer opened the action with a raise from the cutoff only to have Huck Seed three-bet from the button. Danzer four-bet when it came back to him and Seed five-bet all in. Danzer called and the hands were turned over.

The board ran out and Danzer looked up at Seed.
"Good game," said Danzer.
Seed stared at the board for a moment.
"What happened?" remarked Seed.
"I made a wheel," replied Danzer, who indeed made a wheel to scoop the pot and eliminate Seed. Seed will take home $9,741 in 23rd-place prize money.
We arrived at the table just in time to see Dan Kelly's cards being mucked by the dealer as he was eliminated from play. The board read and Kelly's opponent, Brian Hastings, held for aces full of treys and a sixty-five low. Kelly was unable to beat this hand and was eliminated from play.
Despite his early exit today, Kelly has still managed an astounding WSOP this year as this is his seventh recorded cash of the summer.
We picked up with the action on the flop to see Christopher George, Viacheslav Zhukov, and Maria Ho looking down at the felt. The flop read and Zhukov checked. George fired out a bet and Ho cut out a raise. Zhukov flat called and George three-bet. Ho called all in for her last 6,000 and Zhukov called the full bet.
The hit the turn and Zhukov checked. George bet out and Zhukov called. The finished off the board and Zhukov led with a bet. George called.
Ho tabled for a flopped top set for her high- but it was unfortunately bested by George's for a straight.
Zhukov showed for the nut low and took down half of the pot. Ho was sent packing in 19th place and her elimination has prompted a total re-draw for the final two tables.
Picking up with the action on a board of , George Danzer checked over to Todd Barlow who moved all in for his last 18,000. Christopher George cut out a raise and Danzer called.
The river was the and Danzer checked. George fired out one last bet and Danzer folded his hand. Barlow showed but was ultimately behind George's for a flush and an eighty-six. Barlow became the first casualty of the final two tables and will collect $12,267.
Barry Hartheimer raised from under the gun and Danny Fuhs three-bet from the next seat over. Action trickled around to Jonathan Duhamel in the hijack and he called the three-bet. Hartheimer called all in for his last 26,000 and the three took a flop.
The dealer spread out on the felt and Fuhs checked. Duhamel led out and Fuhs called. The turned and and Fuhs checked for a second time. Duhamel cut out another bet and Fuhs called. The finished off the board and the action repeated with a check, a bet, and a call.
Fuhs rolled over playing two aces for his high, but was ultimately behind Duhamel's which played a four and a trey for a straight.
Hartheimer showed before tossing his hand into the muck. Duhamel dragged in the pot and eliminated Hartheimer in 16th place.
George Danzer raised from the cutoff and was three-bet by Danny Fuhs on the button. Action came back to Danzer and he called to see a flop. Both players checked and the hit the turn. Danzer led out with a bet and Fuhs raised him.
Danzer went into the tank for quite some time and eventually folded, showing face up for two pair. Fuhs showed for top two and a flush draw, affirming that Danzer made the correct laydown. This hand left Danzer with just one big bet behind.
The next hand, Danzer raised from the hijack and it was once again Fuhs who three-bet. Action came back to Danzer and he moved all in .
