Ho Scoops Ivey

Level 17
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Phil Ivey opened with a raise and Maria Ho called from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the two were heads up to the flop.

The flop came down {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} and Ivey continued out with a bet. Ho called to see the turn which was the {J-Clubs}. Ivey fired once again and Ho stayed the course. The river brought the {5-Diamonds} and Ivey fired another big bet into the middle. Ho came over the top with a raise, however, and Ivey flat called.

Ho fanned {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a rivered set of fives and the nut low. Ivey looked almost stunned as he picked his cards up off of the felt, went to muck, looked at them once more, and finally threw them away. Ho scooped up the pot and is now sitting pretty around 140,000 while Ivey has fallen from grace and now has about 30,000 in chips.
