Mason Busto

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In the last hand before the break, Ashley Mason moved all in under the gun for 98,000. Tommy Townsend shipped as well in late position, and then William Cogan moved in from the cutoff.

Cogan: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Mason: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Townsend: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Cogan was in great shape against a single shared overcard. The flop came {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, giving everyone reason for optimism. A {6-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river were bricks, however, and the queens held up.

Cappuccio's Straight Sends One Home

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Joe Cappuccio put the big blind all in for 43,000 after action was folded to him in the small blind. The player called off.

Cappuccio: {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Big blind: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Cappuccio had been caught making a move, and the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop put his opponent further ahead. The big blind made an unfortunate two pair on the turn however, as the {7-Spades} gave Cappuccio a straight. The board paired on the river, but it was the {5-Clubs}, not what the big blind was looking for, and his two pair was no good.

Bishop Wins a 60/40

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A player on the button raised to 17,000 after action was folded to him, and Daniel Bishop put him all in from the big blind. The player called off his remaining 24,000.

Bishop: {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Button: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, ending nearly all hope for the button. A {k-Diamonds} on the turn provided a backdoor straight possibility, but the river was the {2-Clubs}, and Bishop's trips stood.

Cloutier Eliminates One, Elder Busts

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Table 441 saw some fast and furious action the past two hands.

A short stack moved all in from middle position for 25,500, and TJ Cloutier made he call from his immediate left. Everyone else folded.

Cloutier: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Middle position: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-}{k-}{q-}, and Cloutier was firmly in control of the race. A {5-} hit the turn and {2-} came on the river, and Cloutier added to his stack.

The very next hand, Jason Duval outran Rupert Elder when his {k-}{j-} beat Elder's pocket sixes in an preflop all in for all of Elder's stack.

Peters Hits the Rail

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Tobias Peters shipped it all from late position with {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, but unfortunately for him, Makoto Yoshimichi woke up with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} on the button.

A flop of {2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} opened up many more outs for Peters, but the {9-Spades} and {5-Clubs} weren't the cards he wanted to see, and his once-promising run in this tournament ended.
