Gates Eliminated in Roller Coaster Hand

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We heard the dealer yell all in and a call at the table in front of us, and saw that Garry Gates was the player who was at risk. The flop read {9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and Gates held {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for an inside straight draw and flush draw. However, he was in rough shape, as his opponent held a terrible hand for him: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. A heart would be no good for Gates, who was now looking for just a jack or a king. Well the {j-Diamonds} on the turn gave him a leading straight, and now he was the one who was in great shape. However, that changed when the {k-Spades} hit the river, giving his opponent broadway.

Gates wished his table mates good luck before heading for the exits.
