Ludlow Misses Huge Draw to Bust

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Ben Ludlow was down to 4,000 when he called a min raise on the button. He took a flop heads up of {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, and his opponent led out. Ludlow raised it, then called off his final 4,000 when his opponent moved all in, having him covered.

Ludlow: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Ludlow had flopped a monster draw, but it wasn't meant to be, as the board didn't bring him any help.

Mizrachi's Lead has Evaporated

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We were walking back to our media table when we saw that Michael Mizrachi was counting out a ton of chips to give to his opponent, who had just secured a big double up. After counting it all out, Mizrachi was left with just 7,500 in chips. The blinds are still only at 50-100, so he still has plenty of time, but given the aggression level of the table so far, this doesn't figure to last long.

Silver Linings Chipbook

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We will do our best to post whenever there is a notable who has made it to the short handed part of the table. As part of that, Humberto Brenes and Mike Degilio are at the same five-handed table.

David vs. Goliath

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is already heads up at his table. We walked by, and saw that he was holding about 40,000 to his opponent's 5,000. A few players at adjoining tables were joking with him about how he was dominating, and his opponent said "Yeah it's David vs. Goliath over here, and remember who wins that at the end!" HE certainly has a high mountain to climb, but we've seen crazier things here at the series!

Tables #80 and #90

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Table #80 has five players remaining including Kevin Vandersmissen and Todd Terry. Terry has some work to do as he is short, but Vandersmissen has some chips.

Table #90 is down to four players, two of which are Greg Mueller and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. ElkY has the biggest stack but Mueller still has some play.

Gates Gets his Double

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Action started with an early position player raising to 225, and Garry Gates three bet it to 600. It folded back around to his opponent, and after 30 seconds of thought, he put in enough chips to put Gates all in. Gates quickly called.

Gates: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran clean for Gates, coming down {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, giving Gates an unnecessary straight on the river. After taking down that hand, Gates is back up over his starting stack, with 5,850.

Grinder Crushing His Table

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

As we were walking through the tournament floor, we saw that every table had at least seven players, and that for the most part each one had nine or even the starting ten after two hours. Then we walk over to Michael Mizrachi's table, and saw that not only were they five handed, but that Mizrachi had a mountain of chips in front of him. We pegged his stack at 32,000, and with only 45,000 chips on the table, Mizrachi is in cruise control at the moment. We will keep an eye on his progress in the next couple of hours to see if he can seal the deal.
