Two for Matros

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

We came to the table on the flop, as Matt Matros and Daniel Negreanu saw a flop of {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Negreanu check-called Matros's bet, and did so again on the {3-Clubs} turn. The river was the {10-Clubs}, and Matros bet again. This time Negreanu folded, leaving himself with only 7,400 in chips.

On the very next hand, Matros raised preflop, and Joe Cassidy re-raised. Matros called, and the flop came {7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Matros checked, Cassidy bet, and then Matros check-raised. Cassidy folded, and Matros took the pot.

After the hands, he sits with 17,000 in chips.

Big Stack Alert

Bardah Busts Tran

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
JC Tran
JC Tran

Rep Porter raised preflop, Ronnie Bardah re-raised, and a short-stacked JC Tran made it four bets. When asked how much he had behind, Tran said he had enough for bets on the flop and turn. Jason Mercier, then called the four bets, and Porter and Bardah called as well. They players saw the flop four-handed, and the dealer spread {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Action checked to Bardah, who bet out, and Tran raised all-in. Mercier and Porter folded, and Bardah called. He tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, and Tran turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Tran would need running straight cards to beat Bardah's flopped set, but the turn and river came {9-Spades}, {q-Spades}. Tran was eliminated, and Bardah is up to 39,000 in chips.

Bonomo with a Four-Bet

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

After an early-position player raised and a middle-position player three bet, Justin Bonomo four-bet to 2,000 from the button. The blinds folded, his two opponents call and the flop fell {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Two checks put action on Bonomo and he wasted little time in betting 500. Two calls followed, the {10-Spades} turned and two more checks put action back on "ZeeJustin."

He fired again, this time for 1,000, and it was enough to get the job done as both of his opponents folded.

JC Tran Doubles Through Rep Porter

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

JC Tran was all in on the turn against Rep Porter with the board showing {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, and the players turned over their cards:

Tran: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Porter: {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

Porter would need either an ace or a six to send Tran to the rail, but the river was the {10-Clubs}, and Tran doubled up. He now has 7,500 in chips, while Porter has 21,000 in front of him.

Meinders vs. Leah

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Brian Meinders
Brian Meinders

We caught the action on a {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop when Mike Leah checked from middle position and Brian Meinders, who was seated to his direct left, put out a bet. Lead made the call and then checked for a second time when the dealer burned and turned the {A-Spades}. Meinders bet, but this time Leah woke up with a check-raise to 2,000. Meinders made the call and it was off to the {9-Diamonds} river.

Leah kept the pressure on with a bet of 1,000, but Meinders kicked it up a notch with a raise to 2,000. Leah paused for a few moments and the gave up on the hand. Meinders flashed a {Q-} before being pushed the pot.

Pair Good for Chiu

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

David Chiu raised pre-flop, and Paul Sokoloff made it three-bets. Chiu called, and the flop came {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Chiu checked, Sokoloff bet 500, and Chiu tossed forward a single T1000 chip. The dealer seemed unsure of whether Chiu wanted to call or raise, but with no verbal declaration, the single, oversized chip was ruled a call. Both players then checked the {j-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river, and Chiu turned over {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Sokoloff mucked, and Chiu took the pot.
